Director Country Lead Kazakhstan & Export Markets

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: 


To lead and drive sustainable and profitable market share growth of adidas and ensure positive development of the brand image across the designated country.  


Key Responsibilities:  


  • Holistic leadership of the adidas organization in the designated country, working cross-functionally to deliver on set objectives. 

  • Drive a ‘continuous improvement’ mindset across the organization's policies and procedures through systems that will improve the overall functioning and effectiveness of the business. 

  • Act as the guardian and promoter of the strong culture of adidas. Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of personnel in the team (~ 350 employees in Retail adidas KAZ, ~90 employees in Back Office adidas KAZ) .         

  • Provide strategic financial contribution and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization. 

  • Represent the business in all relevant matters internally and externally to support needs and demands, and bring the required visibility and awareness to stakeholders.   

  • Partner up closely with relevant SLT members to create and execute needed plans.  

  • Establish and drive strong relationships with the customers to develop the business to a higher level of growth achieving yearly targets and deliverables. 

  • Drive quality growth by ensuring all commercial/sell-out activities ensure positive brand development. 

  • Understand the business environment, including direct and indirect competition, monitoring market trends and consumer behavior analysis. Thereby driving initiatives to convert challenges into opportunities. 

  • Conduct regular market visits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. 

  • Ensure continuity of effective communications and business initiatives across the assigned countries  

  • Inspirationally lead the development of the Wholesale team to meet or exceed commercial goals and KPI’s, and build Brand equity. 

  • Lead by example and with integrity in driving a high employee engagement and high-performance culture. 

  • Influence and drive high level of cross functional collaboration with support teams. 

  • Drive improvement through developing and executing local relevant and specific processes in close cooperation with the Global Sales CoE. 

  • Ensure delivery of company standards, compliance and excellence in the work across the assigned region.  


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  


  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the sales across Retail and Wholesale (in international companies), with an operational background and experience ideally across CIS countries. 

  • Strong leadership & management skills [diverse teams], with a minimum of 10 years’ experience of leading diverse teams and promote collaboration. 

  • Structured, organized and with strong ability to prioritize.  

  • Drive integrity and compliance to ensure sustainability. 

  • Drive excellence on execution and a customer centric approach to build a sustainable business.  

  • Expert understanding of local Markets’ consumers, accounts, economic environment and commercial needs translated into strategic account management. 

  • Excellent communication skills including impactful presentation skills, influencing, negotiating and change management. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

  • Advanced numeracy and literacy, with good IT skills (MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Geographical mobility. 

  • Fluency in English and Russian. 


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  


  • University degree in business with marketing and sales focus
