Assistant Manager - Legal Counsel [6 months]

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

Provide administrative support and coordination responsibilities to ensure effective performance of the Global Legal function with a focus on Global Functions and Global Operations topics (including Amsterdam, Porto, Lucerne) and to support Legal Solutions topics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project and administrative support to the team including preparing presentations and drafting legal documents based on templates
  • Support basic training & presentations of business partners together with legal counsels
  • Manage small sized projects and/or actively participate in projects; support the implementation of results and sustainability of achievements
  • To provide administrative support to the legal team based (including handling correspondence, legal documentation and ensuring compliance with contract management processes).
  • Handling routine correspondence & billing with external legal providers
  • General liaison with other departments


Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Global Legal, business unit teams, management
  • External: lawyers, external advisors, trade association and other interest groups


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Enthusiastic, energetic with a strong interest in, understanding of and affinity for legal and compliance matters in an international business environment
  • Eager to learn and assist others
  • Comprehensive PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with people at the highest level of the organisation
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, takes pride in accuracy with an ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Accurate, proactive and able to anticipate
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Advanced IT skills, especially Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and preferably experience of working with a contract management system


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Business (Marketing / Digital) or equivalent education required. Administrative / secretarial education on MBO/HBO level
  • At least 5 years working experience as an assistant or preferably as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or commercial environment.
