Assistant Manager eCom Buying(Yeezy/ Hype/ Statement), eCommerce Buying, eCommerce

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


  • Optimize pre-season buying depth, in-season sell-thru monitoring and “plan B” proposal for responsible categories & ranges, to achieve eCommerce(eCom) financial goals.
  • Create assortment for responsible categories & ranges for eCom sites based on the Category Planning range plan for the country – Japan.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the manager to provide quality input to key Go-To-Market milestones based on channel demand, in order to optimize the range structure, assortment plan and campaign calendar. Go-To-Market milestones include but not limited to: CSI (Country Strategy Input), APAC Brief, APAC signoff, etc.
  • Prepare the assortment plan by e-platform based on the input and direction from line manager and Concept to Consumer (Merchandising) team.
  • Provide the forecast by article level to Category Planning before the sign-off.
  • Based on “Open to Buy” by category and assortment plan, make the buying depth plan and get approvals by Director eCom Buying.
  • Align beforehand the category strategic plan and eCom related functions.



  • Provide the latest product launch information reflecting the delivery status with Visual Merchandising, Digital Activation, and eCom Operations / Customer Experience teams to be ready for the optimized consumer journey on eCom.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report the sell-thru to line manager, Director eCom Buying and eCom leadership.
  • Propose “plan B” if the sell-thru is underperforming and find opportunity of additional inventory if the sell-thru is outperforming.
  • Work on by platform range change based on consumer types and shopping behaviors.
  • Represent eCom as category window, attend the cross-function team meeting, and share business update for Category Planning.
  • Collaborate with Trading & Product Operations team (under eCom Buying) to create discount and promotion plan, especially for slow moving articles.
  • Make an eSite visit to understand the consumer trend and review best sellers and/or black holes.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Outlook-Advanced / Word – Advanced / Excel – Advanced / PowerPoint – Advanced
  • Fluent in Japanese / Intermediate in English


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in relevant Merchandising or Buying
