Product Designer /// Checkout








We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Amsterdam-based Checkout team.


We provide a seamless, personalised and transparent buying process for our consumers. In the Checkout team we understand that people's time is precious, when they shop with our brands, we want their time to be spend on finding the right products. We aim to reduce the cognitive load of checkout and payments as much as possible. We analyse consumer insights, Global and Market specific differences in culture and behaviour. Use NPS and analytics data to make user centred copy and designs to support quick decision making. We measure the impact of these UX improvements and are able to test new experiences and optimise fast. In Checkout you play a crucial part in the Customer Journey, we feel responsible to score the winning goal!



Key responsibilities:


  1. Experience Delivery
  • Leverage existing consumer insights or request necessary analysis to understand the value drivers for the consumer. Partner on a regular basis with the Consumer Insights team to influence future consumer research.
  • Create experience design concepts within your area of responsibility that address consumer value propositions and are backed up by data from various testing and analytics sources.
  • Deliver these concepts in the form of information architecture, user journeys, concept maps, flows, sketches, wireframes or prototypes based on the project needs.
  • Validate if the solutions delivered by internal teams and vendors meet the desired user experience.
  • Document the validated experience standards.
  • Champion our adidas Design Language (System) through iteration, with accessibility in mind.



  1. Experience Optimization
  • Be the key contact within your scope of responsibility to optimize current digital experiences.
  • Drive the optimization of consumer-facing digital solutions within your area of responsibility, leveraging user testing, A/B testing, and analytics reports.
  • Implement a continuous improvement process to ensure that insights are incorporated into the different product backlogs on an incremental basis.



  1. Experience Innovation
  • Extract design, digital and ecommerce trends. Qualify and apply findings to experience design concepts in order to maximize the value for the consumer and for the company.
  • Contribute to the Experience Design and Product Owner communities, sharing knowledge and best practices.



  1. Experience Collaboration & Consulting
  • Provide a consumer centric view along the experience. Collaborate with product areas and other stakeholders to ensure that backlogs are aligned towards a cross-functional view to deliver complete experiences.
  • Consult stakeholders within your scope of responsibility on implementing User Centric Thinking, as well as application of the adidas Design Language.
  • Conduct experience reviews. Provide advice on user experience, usability topics and design language within your scope of responsibility.
  • Provide hands-on experience design support on concept direction considering overarching best practices.

You’re a good fit for the role if:


• You’ve got 5+ years’ relevant ecommerce (or complex industry/platform) experience designing for product teams

• You’re an excellent communicator, comfortable presenting complex topics and decisions

• You value collaboration and can bring cross-functional knowledge to the table

• You’re a creator at heart. You’re deeply passionate about your craft and can balance consistency with creativity

• You champion accessibility and inclusivity throughout the user journey

• You’ve got experience validating design solutions using qualitative and quantitative methods

• You can source, intepret, and implement feedback and insights into your design decisions


Bonus points for:


• Experience designing global products (international audiences, multiple languages, etc.)

• Knowledge of or experience with front-end technologies

• Hands-on experience with data analysis


This role isn’t for you if:
