Direct to Consumer Marketing Intern (Internship Program 2022)

This internship is an excellent opportunity for a top talent with strong communication, creative problem-solving skills and a passion for sports and the sporting goods industry. Details of the program

Duration: May 2nd -August 26th (16 weeks)

Remuneration: 16 CAD/ hour

Location: tbd. Our head office is in Woodbridge, ON. Currently, we are still working from home but once we return, we will work 3 days/ week from the office. Therefore, please make sure you are able to reach the office location.

Process and timelines:

Application deadline: February 6th, 2022, end of day.

The final stage of the process, interviews and assessment day, is planned for the week of March 14th (subject to change) and offers will be communicated by March 28th.


The Direct to Consumer (DTC) Marketing Intern - Purpose & overall relevance for the organization

Reporting to the DTC Marketing team, you will be responsible for supporting adidas retail stores by assisting in the implementation of flawlessly executed consumer marketing campaigns, activations, and events. This position will oversee administrative support of the marketing department including managing purchase orders, creating, and distributing store directives or projects briefs, as well as tracking deliveries. This role will be key with the upcoming new store opening at Toronto Eaton Centre.

Apply to this role for a unique opportunity to learn about the Marketing function within the Go-To-Market process and the other functions within the adidas matrix. Understand the difference between adidas Concept Stores and Factory Outlets and the tiered levels of support. Acquire knowledge of the brick-and-mortar consumer journey through the functions of Visual Merchandising, In-Store Concept and Activations and Customer Acquisition.


Key Responsibilities (Functional):

  • Compile info for DTC Marketing directives (ie. GTM, Monthly, Promos, etc)
  • Assist and communication to Retail store teams
  • Compile all campaign, or CC activation information
  • Oversee in-store execution
  • Collaborate with store teams, third party and J2
  • Create briefs for campaigns and projects
  • Assist with PO creation and management. Assist with collecting/documenting estimates and quotes
  • Assistance in accumulating information for Performance Meetings
  •  Assistance with delivery tracking for marketing elements and key articles/collections
  • Track insights and KPI’s for campaigns/activations/projects
  • Assist with adhoc projects from Visual Merchandising, In-Store Concept & Activations or Customer Acquisition
  • Support with the new store opening of Toronto Eaton Centre adidas Sport Performance Store. Assist with opening and Membership activations/events

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A strong understanding of the consumer journey at Retail. Marketing campaign implementation and planning
  • Proficient in Photo Shop, Illustrator and/or InDesign are desired
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • A passion for the adidas brand!
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to succeed in ever-changing and complex organization with minimal daily direction.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college/university program or just graduated. 
  • All applications will be accepted and considered. It is our long-term goal to convert interns into full time positions. Students who are planning to graduate within the next 12 months after the internship will be preferred for this program.
  • Ideally some background/ familiarity with the Retail industry as well as previous marketing/ coordination/ project management experience.
