Director, Affiliate and Partnership Marketing

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

As the Director of Affiliate & Partnership Marketing in our Portland-based Digital Marketing team, your primary responsibilities will consist of overseeing our channel strategy and optimizing toward performance-based KPIs (traffic generation, revenue, return-on-investment, and cost-of-sale). You will fully support the channel objectives to drive high quality traffic to the US online store while accelerating revenue growth. You will manage Partnership Marketing & Affiliate Marketing channels, creating strategies used across branded partnerships, NCAA partners, High School partners, gift cards, and an ecosystem of affiliate publishers.

 

Collaboration will extend to the global eCommerce Digital Marketing community, where you will contribute to our global Affiliate & Partnerships best practices, guidelines and standards with original input and thought leadership from the key US market. With a razor-sharp focus on eCommerce revenue, you will also connect with sales, merchandising, business units, and performance marketing teams to fully uncover all opportunities in the US. You will play an important role within the adidas US Digital Marketing team and collaborate closely with the broader US eCommerce and Global Online Marketing teams to help create a US-based center-of-excellence. You will be a driver in key partner relationships with Affiliate publishers, branded partnerships, schools and more.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devise and implement the eCommerce Partnerships and Affiliate strategy for adidas US across adidas.com, adidas App, Confirmed App, DTC Retail and yeezysupply.com
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Digital Marketing (all channels), Buying/Planning, Analytics and Marketing Activations teams to create cross-functional synergies
  • Drive testing, reporting, optimization and analysis on partner performance to identify key levers and opportunities for improvements
  • Accountable for the phasing and deployment of a multi-million dollar budget
  • Manage day-to-day channel operations (including affiliate and school relationships) to meet KPIs and customer acquisition goals
  • Responsible for top and bottom-line growth to achieve sales, ROI and total contribution goals
  • Build, supervise and manage an internally-sourced large team, including planning, assigning/directing workload, and managing performance
  • Align our channel efforts with Merchandising/Buyers as well as Brand to ensure that we’re prioritizing inventory that needs marketing support
  • Fortify relationships with key affiliate publishers, Global and EU B2B managers, and buyers to drive common goal setting, ownership, and share best practices.
  • Collaborate with Brand Activation to align our activation strategies with product lifecycles & launches
  • Monitor affiliate and partnership marketing trends, best practices, technologies and techniques so that we’re able to adapt and quickly implement new features where possible

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in planning and managing large budgets allocated across multiple publishers, partners, and properties
  • Brand enthusiast who understands where adidas should create online buzz
  • Proven skills, optimization and management techniques with experience managing high volume growth targets for complex campaigns
  • Ability to effectively manage 3rd party external agencies & other partners
  • Analytical, logical and data driven
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics & Adobe Analytics)
  • An interest in exploiting technology to automate and scale key processes
  • Experience managing and motivating others either directly or indirectly
  • Ambitious and profit-oriented with a passion for eCommerce and the digital marketing landscape
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships quickly as a result of a team-first mentality
  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Diligence, accuracy, attention to detail and a strong work ethic

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 6+ years hands-on Affiliate Marketing and Partnership Marketing experience (either client or agency side)
  • Advanced computer skills with proven Excel experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • English language fluency
