Director Board Protection (M/F/D) - Corporate Security

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

This position will contribute directly to the protection mandate of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, to analyse and support the security strategy of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors and to promote the implementation of a modern protection concept for the Board of Directors.

The Director Board Protection will implement Board and Executive Board security initiatives in line with the adidas values.

The incumbent will assess, manage and reduce to an acceptable level the security risks to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support and drive the implementation of the Executive and Board protection concept making sure to create a safe and secure workplace.
  • Trusted and reliable contact person and advisor for Executive Board on safety issues such as travel security, workplace security and social media screening.
  • Development and constant review and roll out of Board travel policies.
  • Briefing on travel security (measures for countries with increased risk).
  • Implementation and organization of behavioral training for executive board members.
  • Introduce and manage regular social media screenings for the Executive Board
  • Management of fleet management for the board of directors and further training of board drivers through training and preparation, if necessary also for international certification
  • Protection of residential buildings by analysing existing systems and recommending new systems such as intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, EMA, etc.
  • Event risk management for board meetings, supervisory board meetings, public events etc.
  • Design of intervention measures, ensuring protection against eavesdropping.
  • Development and provision of instructions and advice to corporate protection and security teams within the company,
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of key processes, systems, initiatives and business models and continuously develop expertise
  • Developing expertise in assigned areas, including vigilance for company-wide initiatives, process and organizational changes. Leveraging the experience and knowledge gained in the context of Corporate Protections. Be responsible for training and updating the members of the Corporate Protection, Security and Executive Board teams as necessary.
  • Act as line manager for the responsible team members, which means defining quarterly objectives (business and development related) and evaluating performance. Provide coaching and development feedback to the team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to manage the protection of executive and supervisory boards within a global company / portfolio
  • Strong ability to operate across functions and understanding of external business factors

  • Ability to accept and meet deadlines, which requires effective time management and a sense of priority and agility
  • Strong analytical skills to manage large amounts of information from different sources and to derive meaningful observations
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a high degree of customer orientation; can easily navigate in complex organisations, interact with a variety of functions, target groups, management styles or cultures and create/maintain relationships
  • Curious and eager to grow; eager to learn and interested in tackling issues outside the comfort zone and looking beyond the obvious
  • Effective presentation and communication skills in English and German (oral and written) and a relaxed approach to information
  • Additional language skills are an advantage (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, etc.)
  • Mobile; business related travel up to 40% per year

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Security or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in the management of corporate security or board protection projects
  • Industry experience, master craftsman for Security or similar education
  • Interdisciplinary independent perception of risk and security management processes in the task spectrum of a global company security
  • Experience in risk assessment
  • Evidence of training or discipline specialization relevant to industry and Group business model and channels
  • Experience in leading and developing teams
  • Experience working with SAP or Microsoft beneficial
