Director Digital Content Production, GCA Studio A

General Purpose

As a Director Creative Content Production in adidas Digital your task is to manage and deliver in totality Studio A GCA content productions. The production scope can be on a local or global level across digital, markets or Business Units. Your objective is to conduct all digital-first productions within the boundaries of time, cost & quality while focusing on digital-first content purposes and requirements. You will be expected to provide direction to plan and execute content productions alongside the creative and project management teams. Additionally, you will add value by supporting Studio A GCA and Studio A Global on strategic production initiatives. You will be focusing on resource management, production vendor management and coordination activities, acting as the central interface to Studio A GCA stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities

Scope: manage and deliver in totality Studio A GCA content productions.


Production & content delivery control.

  • Support producers to understand Communication team briefs, calendars, budgets, creative approaches and final creative to realize shoot efficiencies ensuring OTIF (on-time-in-full) delivery, on-budget and quality productions.
  • Being the production authority across all shoots and sound production.
  • Ensure producing best value, innovative and integrated shoots to fulfil the creative vision.
  • Required to travel locally, within Asia and internationally at short notice up to 40% annually.
  • Managing producers validating and reviewing:
    • costs (bids / estimate reviews, negotiations and payments)
    • timelines (pre-production, shoot and post-production)
    • Business Affairs (clearances and insurances)
    • Product sample sourcing and provision
    • Securing athlete and talent attendance (together with Comms and Sports Marketing / Entertainment and Influencer Marketing)
    • Travel requirements of non-adidas persons
    • On-set attendance and production
    • Post-production (retouching / editing / content archiving)
    • Production Completion Reports, cost reconciliations

Resource Planning

  • Coordinating and managing creative capture pool of talent (directors / videographers / photographers)
  • Procuring appropriate production resources (production resources / production company roaster).

Strategic and production infrastructure directives

  • Feasibility checks
  • Following global production standards, processes policies and tools and ensuring China policies and tools are developed and implemented in alignment with Studio A global network.
  • Management and planning of:
    • Internal production tools (Shoot Calendar, Production Preferred Suppliers List, etc.)
    • Production infrastructure internal owned / leased studios
    • External production vendors
    • Stock imagery relationships
    • Product samples process.

People Management

  • Identifying resource gaps and taking team resource decisions. Recruiting internal and external producers. Onboarding, training and development them.
  • Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level by creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development.
  • Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and Digital objectives.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency gathering team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.

Education & Experience

  • University degree with focus on Business Administration, Communication or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of in-depth experience related to creative production or similar topics within or servicing an international brand.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in the ecosystem environment of the project area in scope
  • Experience in working with athletes and / or celebrities. Budget management and cost negotiations of €1m+ budgets.
  • Solid understanding of marketing industries, processes and communication channels.  Knowledge of Finance and Procurement processes is a plus
  • Experience working with stakeholders at various seniority levels as well as subject matter experts across various functions (Developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.)
  • Experience in cross-media (print, digital and TV) shoot with knowledge of producing in worldwide locations / for worldwide markets.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team


  • Very good communication skills, especially when interacting with different levels of business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and untangle complex situations into actionable activities, works well under pressure.
  • Organized, proactive, solution oriented and energetic multi-tasker able to use initiative, prioritise team and personal workload and have a team deliver creative production solutions under tight timelines and budget constraints.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Embraces and promotes new ways of working. Fosters a learning culture.
  • Works well under remote management and can manage a team remotely whilst travelling
  • Broad understanding and passion for the sports industry


  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Solid knowledge of Frame.IO or similar review software skills
  • Fluent English both verbally and written
  • Chinese as mother tongue
