Director Digital Operations

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:


Our digital platforms and experiences play a vital role in connecting our consumers with our products and brands across many different touch points, as well performing the important role of selling directly to the consumer. 


The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the digital landscape, China IT system, consumer behaviors and be able to shape how our website operations service and brand propositions work to best effect within that. Globally both adidas & Reebok are on Demandware platform and locally in China we are on Magento for both brands.


As the Director Digital Operations you will be responsible to oversee and manage the operations of our 10 websites (.com, Tmall.com & JD.com for adidas & Reebok) in terms of site adaptation to Magento, monitor performance, site functionality enhancements, customer service, interface with IT and Supply chain, product display and content management, corporate with legal to avoid potential risks. You will collaborate closely with other functional teams with eCommerce, IT, Supply chain and Legal organisations. You will also have a feel for future eCommerce business models, design and operations systems, identifying what we should be investing in to set us on a path to successfully deliver  vision.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Day-to-day governance and management of site performance of the 10 China eCommerce sites (incl Mobile)
  • Lead the platform development, enhancements, features & functionality from business standpoint and manage IT delivery and also responsible for creating and validating of business cases and approval process for all site functionality improvements/enhancements with coordination and program board
  • Lead and monitor eCommerce RFC from both budget and actual initiative deliveries. Ensure projects are delivered according to business needs and within agreed timelines, costs and project scope
  • Lead engagement with TMall & JD.com platforms for leveraging platform functionalities and optimize them for adidas & Reebok
  • Lead and manage master-data- team for product content flow management to assure product launches on the site on time and flawlessly
  • Lead & Manage customer service team
  • Responsible to represent eCommerce in all SCM & IT E2E process/discussions.
  • Lead and manage interaction with GACT for all product imagery & content across adidas & Reebok.
  • Drive Operational Excellence, perform monthly reviews of business processes and initiate and drive implementation of enhancements.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or an additional 2 years of experience in digital industry required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Website operations or digital —digital product management, digital technology and/or digital operations required;
  • At least 3 years of people management experience required;  
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation skills, building strategic presentations
  • Excellent leading with influence and partnership skills
  • Experience managing to a budget and projecting costs to build budget forecasts
  • Understanding of underlying technology is necessary. You don't have to be a developer, but you understand what makes things work.
