Director Sustainability Governance - Product Operations (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This is a key strategic position for an organized, passionate, and goal-oriented leader. By 2025, 9 out of every 10 articles across Apparel, Footwear and A&G products will meet at least one of our sustainability composition commitments. In this role, you will drive the operationalization of our 9/10 goal, a key component of our Sustainability strategy. Your role will be to lead, plan and steer the advancement of our 9/10 goal end-to-end.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and continuously enhancing a comprehensive foundation upon which this goal can be accurately defined, measured and reported on
  • Creating and driving processes (tracking, reporting) that allow for proactive management of 9/10 target achievement as part of our OWN THE GAME 2025 strategy
  • Embedding operationalization of 9/10 cross-functionally throughout the organization (including POPS, Sourcing, Sustainability, Brand, Finance, TECH, Corporate Strategy, Legal/SVB, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications)
  • Ensuring definition and execution of 9/10 roadmap
  • Establishing robust operating procedures, a comprehensive system of internal controls and clear processes that enhance accuracy and reliability of goal tracking
  • Overseeing implementation of required TECH general controls, systems and system interfaces and process enhancements
  • Driving data accuracy, process reliability and compliance  
  • Driving and managing the project portfolio that drives change across various functions contributing to the 9/10 target
  • Effectively deploying project resources to ensure high quality and consistency of deliverables in close partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Overseeing and enhancing the sustainable product governance framework
  • Regularly updating Senior Leadership on progress, milestones and results
  • Steering and facilitating discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adequate and timely alignment on proposed direction(s)
  • Independently managing senior stakeholder groups, establishing solid working relationships and steering communication

  • Background and/or deep understanding of topics related to product operations, creation process, compliance, audit, finance, tech systems
  • Business acumen and understanding of the sporting goods/fashion industry and our key business operations (e.g., Sourcing, product creation, supply chain management)
  • Proven passion for and professional exposure to Sustainability a plus


Requisite Education and Qualifications: 

  • University degree, advanced degrees in business, finance or sustainability contexts a plus or equivalent education required
  • Min. 10 years of experience in job or job function
  • Min. 7 to 8 years of relevant work experience in Multinational Corporation (MNC) environment (e.g. top tier consulting, project management, internal auditing)
  • Within which 1 to 2 years proven track record of leading large-scale project / program management experience
