Director Reporting & Analytics - Supply Chain Management Market NAM

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

In the North America Supply Chain Reporting and Analytics team, we promote data driven decision making to drive our supply chain strategy.

 

To achieve this, the Supply Chain North America team requires the right data access during planning to analyze and predict problems before they are realized. The purpose of the Reporting & Analytics role is to establish and manage the data landscape, enabling functional business partners, to obtain and analyze critical information within the operational execution of Supply Chain

 

We are looking for a Supply Chain Reporting & Analytics Director who has both the passion for measurement and insight techniques to maximize the ROI of supply chain investments and the experience to guide and educate our North America partners through a consistent measurement strategy, a consolidated KPI framework, and an “easy to understand” reporting model which are in line with the global brand objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Design, Develop, and Drive supply chain analytics framework and insights delivery mechanisms within the team and cross functionally across functional areas and diverse locations within North America.

  • Act as the central link between Global SCM Strategy and all First Line SCM NAM Leaders
  • Constantly interact with other Data Analysts for providing guidance and ensuring consistency in the measurement strategy, KPI and data usage.

 

Establish centralized SCM Reporting & Analytics competence and determine “roadmap” to grow sustainable reporting and analytics practices

  • Design and lead the overarching data strategy across the supply chain
  • Determine target system landscape to compress “time to insight” (including Big Data, MicroStrategy, Tableau, use of local reporting databases)

 

 

Manage the “pipeline” of operational reports, management reports and analysis cases

  • First focus on bringing key reports online to support ongoing SCM transformation (e.g., inventory projections, buy summaries, inbound projections)
  • Produce regular management dashboard for senior management meetings on SCM performance
  • Capture and prioritize “demand” of reporting requirements from operational teams
  • Capture and prioritize hypotheses for analysis which deepen our understanding of performance in estimating demand and supplying on time
  • Engage regularly and deeply with management team to ensure relevance and accuracy of insights

 

Lead a team of report developers, data scientists, and analysts

  • Acting line manager for 3-5 direct reports
  • Shape the combined skillset of the team to cover the spectrum of report design and delivery through more advanced analytical techniques
  • Drive and nurture individual career paths in line with business objectives.

 

Plug in to internal and external networks of Reporting & Analytics experts and practitioners

  • Connect with Reporting & Analytics counterparts within North America market and across markets to share successes and solve difficult problems
  • Stay on the cutting edge of reporting and analytical techniques through industry contacts

 

Create strategy and deliverables for supply chain analytics services.

    • Collect high level requirements from business leadership
    • Work independently and collaborative by maintaining a strong relationship with the Global Supply Chain Analytics Leads
    • Define requirements in collaboration with key counterparts to ensure a “state of the art” analytics toolbox derived from best in class supply chain strategies
    • Generate actionable insights to support supply chain optimization in collaboration with Supply Chain North America Leadership Team

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years analytics responsibility within supply chain analytics
  • Demonstrated supply chain business acumen
  • Ability to bridge between technical solutions with real-life organizational dynamics
  • Strong collaboration skills across Supply Chain functional leads
  • Very strong communication skills, ensuring that insights are understood and translated into actions
  • User Experience mind-set
  • Strong quantitative problem-solving skills; curiosity for understanding root causes
  • Project mind-set to scope, plan and execute report and technical development work
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, strategic and influencing skills

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A four year-degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, logistics, operations, planning, supply chain, or information systems.  Other experience or combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 3-5 years people leadership experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or analytic disciplines
  • Strong competence with reporting tools (BI, MicroStrategy, Excel, Access, Tableau preferred)
  • Familiarity with adidas data structures preferred but not required
  • Understanding of SCM processes is a nice add-on
