Director Retail Activation (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

Attract consumers to our stores through an effective calendarization of all brand & commercial key moments in adidas retail stores. Develop, manage and execute the framework for retail activation across all markets with a specific focus on Concept Stores & Factory Outlets.

Ensure each brand & commercial campaign is thought with the end consumer in mind, considering all store touchpoints from both digital & analog side.

This role is responsible for maximising the attractivity of our brand and ensuring key relevant retail moments are played at the right locations at the right time for adidas Global Retail business. This role will develop, manage and execute the continuous improvement of key retail processes to decrease complexity and increase productivity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build in partnership with the Senior Director Retail Marketing the overall strategic direction and annual priorities of the Retail Activation department.
  • Accountable for consolidating retail requirements and setting up a Global consolidated calendar for Concept stores & Factory Outlets.
  • Input retail needs for Concept Stores & Factory Outlets in all campaign creation driven by the Business Units and the Global Brand organization.
  • Monitor quality and on time delivery of global retail toolkits. Lead all aspects of the consumer journey delivery for Concept Stores & Factory Outlets, ensure the right planning and development of the campaign toolkits.
  • Drive retail store activations with current and future Retail trends in mind. Ensure full implementation and tracking of retail store activations framework.
  • Build and lead a best practice sharing process, implement “brand tribes”, network of retail marketers, who will support identifying and sharing their best assets and plans
  • Live a brand & commercial culture in which all stakeholders understand and actively respond to the changing needs of our consumers (consumer demand, changing trends etc.). Build a strong stakeholder partnership with Business Units, Horizontal Brand teams, Digital activation teams, markets, other Global Sales departments in collaborative & aligned manner.
  • Build collaborative relationships with other functions critical to the team’s delivery, including Merchandising; Visual Direction and CRM.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Intermediate user of MS Office suite of products.
  • Deep knowledge in retail marketing, plus broad knowledge of other retail and brand areas.
  • Strong organisation skills & flexibility
  • Strong team builder, comfortable working in a matrix organisation, across boarders working with a diverse and international group of highly skilled leaders and experts.
  • Excellent communication skills including presentation skills, influencing & negotiating, business partnering and change management
  • Fluency in English, both written & verbal.
  • Additional languages are an advantage.
     
    Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • University degree in business, ideally with marketing focus or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years Retail Marketing experience or related Retail experience.
  • 2+ years of people management experience and/or market experience (APAC, NAM or Europe)
  • Successful multi-year experience on both market and global level is a plus
