Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


adidas Direct-to-Consumer business will represent the majority of our revenues by 2025 and we are expecting to have yearly double-digit gorwth the next years. Beyond, sales, the impact we can create on every consumer thnaks to Retail,eCom, Omni and Partner Progrmas is massive and unique.


The SCM Global Deployment Team will play a critical role in creating and setting the supply and demand allocation across our multi-node distribution center networks, to enable the optimal product flow from factory to consumer and ensure we can deliver to consumers when and how they want it.


Within the SCM Global Deployment Team, the Director SCM Global Pre-Season Deployment will have the critical responsibility of framing pre-season deployment across all markets, ensuring guidelines, creating processes and briefing tools needed for pre-season optimization.


Key Responsibilities:


SCM Global Pre-Season Deployment Framework and Capabilities


  • Work with Global Network Planning and Global DC Engineering to ensure process, people and technology are enabled to realize net sales, customer centricity and sustainability opportunities planned for distribution center networks globally
  • Define data inputs to be used for pre-season deployment modeling and assumptions to be used for pre-season deployment plans across all markets, and determine future modeling / pre-season deployment needs by market
  • Define global template for how markets should use suite of pre-season deployment capabilities in collaboration with Global Product Owner Team
  • Partner with Global Product Owner Team, Advanced Analytics, DNA, IT and markets to define business requirements for pre-season deployment optimization solutions


Performance Reviews and Best Practice Sharing

  • Host performance reviews with markets and share pre-season deployment results with relevant key stakeholders globally, monitoring and reporting progress on key operational metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Assess best practices across markets and determine if/how they can be rolled out to other markets; ensure best practices rollout across markets with the support of Global Product Owner Team, Advanced Analytics, DNA, IT and markets
  • Select and prioritize improvement opportunities and support Sr. Director SCM Global Deployment to generate buy-in from key stakeholders


SCM Global Deployment Strategy and Success Measurement

  • Remain current on industry & competitor trends, disruptive technologies and other advances, and anticipate opportunities to transform pre-season deployment capabilities, processes and tools
  • Define input, consult and support Sr. Director SCM Global Deployment in the development, planning and execution of the future SCM Global Deployment Strategy for pre-season deployment
  • Translate SCM Global Deployment Strategy for pre-season into mid-term action plans that support the ambition of enabling next day key cities / three-day service network and desired agility for peaks at a cost optimal price
  • Define KPIs and targets for pre-season deployment globally in collaboration with Sr. Director and Performance Management

  • Build appropriate structure to be able to manage team effectively, identify and develop future talents
  • Create and foster a culture of inclusion, respect, integrity, accountability, growth mindset and innovation to ensure adidas’ competitive advantage
  • Allocate different projects and work to team, considering experience, complexity, workload and organizational efficiency
  • Provide team members / direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and SCM Global Deployment objectives
  • Perform line manager role for direct reports (e.g., recruiting, performance appraisal, team approvals)

  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across adidas to secure implementation of the SCM Global Deployment roadmap

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Thought leader with consumer mindset and strong business acumen
  • Cross-functional experience and business know-how of end-to-end supply chain management operations
  • Experience and understanding of wholesale industry customers and their process flow fundamentals, as well as similar experience with retail store and eCommerce distribution models and flows
  • Ability to interact and navigate with different levels of seniority in various markets and functions, and demonstrated strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills
  • Experience exploring innovations and progressive practices within and beyond functional area, and implementing new approaches and processes that drive profitability and/or operational excellence
  • Proven ability to leverage functional expertise to deliver results and drive broader organizational effectiveness
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, Manhattan WMS System and LLamasoft a plus, as well as strong MS Office knowledge (Excel/Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and computation skills and ability to root cause, problem solve and drive solutions
  • Comfortable creating complex operational planning models, productivity scenarios, distribution modeling and early warning programs
  • Polished and articulate with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrated by the ability to influence, communicate and lead
  • Consistent sense of anticipation, urgency, creative problem-solving and attention to detail; ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with reliable planning and organization skills
  • Curious, energetic personality, eager to think outside of the box and explore off-beaten tracks with a passion for innovation
  • Solid leadership principles and great aptitude for leading diverse people and teams, with awareness, sensitivity, and consistent professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to drive team performance through setting clear expectations and priority management




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management from a College or University or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in one or more Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance functions in a global company, ideally in the sporting goods industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directly managing people
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree 
  • CPIM, Lean Six Sigma Certification and/or Experience in Agile Methodology is a plus
