Director Sales Development

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

  • Ensure sustainable and profitable market share growth, reaching top line and bottom line objectives and leading the implementation of selected global and local strategic initiatives in Asia Pacific

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead Sales Development point of contact for the Market Asia Pacific
  • Lead (own & drive) the implementation of relevant global and local sales strategies and initiatives across the Asia Pacific countries and clusters
  • Adapt relevant global and local sales strategies and initiatives for successful implementation in Asia Pacific
  • Lead the implementation and governance of the key sales foundation topics (trade investment, customer segmentation, a best in class go-to-market sell in process, sales policy development/compliance etc)
  • Drive and support Key city Execution based on aligned initiatives and priorities
  • Standardize customer service standards / order management  systems / tools /  key processes / SLA
  • Drive consistent sales reporting, analysis and tools
  • Sellout data ownership & business analytics (in sync with retail to ensure no duplication of efforts)
  • Shape the APAC sales strategy through a playbook approach and support the sales performance of the country/cluster sales teams both in terms of net sales and contribution
  • Add commercial value to the countries and clusters (net sales and contribution)
  • Drive wholesale collaboration across markets and channels and consolidate the e2e channel inputs for range cycles (operating with an omni channel mindset)
  • Establish a governance board to ensure all sales depts are following and applying sales strategies, policies and best practices
  • Establish a regular feedback rhythm and format to HQ and best practice to countries and clusters
  • Shared responsibility with Global: development of future sales initiatives
  • Act as mentor to junior members within own job function as required

  • Markets/Countries/Clusters: Managing Directors, General Managers, Country Managers, Sales Directors, Biz. Dev., BU Heads, CTC Heads,  Heads of KA/Field/Fashion/CS, Head of Sales Coordination, Logistics, KAMs, Sales Coordination Managers and Biz Dev Managers

  • Understanding of the Asia Pacific market landscape

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant degree with focus on Sales/Marketing
  • Business environment experience: minimum 8-10 years
  • Functional experience: minimum 5 years’ experience in sales ideally in the sporting goods industry
  • Cross-functional experience ideally in marketing / sales / finance
  • Industry experience: sporting goods / retail / consumer goods
