Director of Engineering

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Lead a team of Industrial Engineers and Lean Specialists to enable the efficient integration of people, process, and systems.  
•    Develop a team of Industrial Engineers to help support and further their growth in aspects of the professional content of their role. 
•    Collaborate with Distribution Center Operation and support teams to improve throughput, cost and quality with measurable results.
•    Be the conduit between processes and technical applications to drive DC optimization  
•    Oversee external consultants and integrators for DC projects including but not limited to: retrofit projects, labor standards implementations, incentive programs, facility design and implementation, and four-wall optimization efforts.
•    Ensure the adoption and standardization of solutions within the overall adidas distribution network.
•    Plan, manage and track milestones associated with Material Handling Equipment related implementations and other improvement projects.
•    Responsible for the solution discovery, specification, and collaboration with procurement resources to identify/select external MHE service providers to further enable and optimize our DCs.
•    Provide technical expertise for solution designs for distribution centers within the network.
•    Identify, develop, and champion business cases for large- and small-scale projects and initiatives. 
•    Develop structure and lead change management approach for initiatives.
•    Represent Global Logistics and Distribution, ensuring timely communication and execution of deliverables across the network
•    Develop and maintain a project network with other relevant departments within Global Operations to provide end-to-end transparency of project activities, risks, and statuses.

•    Distribution expert with a specific focus on warehousing and distribution execution strategies
•    Strong technical knowledge as it relates to DC automation (e.g. ASRS, mini load, multi shuttle, Goods-to-Person, sortation, robotics, Distribution Center Control Systems, and proven Manual DC concepts.
•    Excellent project management, planning and organization skills and ability to work and deliver in changing environments while adhering to specified deadlines 
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in writing, to interact effectively and efficiently on different levels of the organization and with external providers
•    Excellent ability to mediate and bring cross-functional stakeholders with different objectives to agree on a plan and strategy
•    Excellent English language proficiency: multi-lingual abilities in local languages preferred 
•    Proficiency in project management related tools and software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint)


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  
•    8+ years of relevant management experience in an Engineering design environment
•    Experience in consumer goods or retail distribution preferred
•    Minimum of 5 proven experiences in leading the concept and implementation phase of a Greenfield or a major DC change implementation
•    Distribution center operational experience
