Color Management Developer - Creative Direction Color (m/f/d)

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION

 

Support the Creative Direction Color Team on the technical creation and management of the global color library and processes.  Help lead critical projects in innovation which will have a direct impact on the Creative Direction with a focus on brand enhancement.

 

As a Color Management Developer,  you will be the responsible touchpoint of expertise for the technical development  and execution of Seasonal color for the Global organization.  This role will function as a strong strategic partner for the CD Color Team and Cross Functional Business Units (BU's).  You should have a strong sense of partnership and drive for implementation and development.

 

Using color knowledge and collaboration skills to support the creation of Color Standards and physical exploration of new coloring methods. Support and elevate lab dips for seasonal initiatives and identify and address key issues and challenges in color development. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support R&D of Color Innovation
  • Support in execution of Color development through innovation.
  • Support in conducting research projects w/other BUs & innovation team
  • Lead stronger relationships with cross functional partners within the BU's
  • Initiate upstream collaborations with new vendors
  • Manage prototyping of new colorization methods
  • Create guidelines and processes for new color innovations
  • Research new technologies, gather innovation trends and data
  • Core research on the dyeing properties of material classifications
  • Research new technologies, gather innovation trends and data
  • Proactively identify and mitigate color risks with vendors and cross-functional partners, including partnership into standards strategy
  • Mentor teammates and lead cross-functional teams on color achievability impact on complex dimensions/styles/materials

 

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

 

  • Creative Direction Color team
  • Cross-functional collaborations:
    • CMG partners in Design and Development teams in vertical Business categories like BU Training, Running, Originals etc.
    • Business partners in horizontal functions like Quality and Standards, Innovation, IT, Global Operations and Sourcing
  • External suppliers and partners such as standard dye house and color service providers 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

  • Independent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and use of Macintosh & Adobe computer design software/systems 
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant systems (e.g. PDM, SAP Ariba, Smartsheet, Sharepoint)
  • Strong and inclusive team player with the ability to work with a diverse groups of people in a productive manner
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a college or university with Art, Fashion, Textile or Product Design focus
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in relevant area
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree
