Senior Manager Media Relations - Corporate Communication (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

 

Corporate Communication helps adidas to create distinctive and appealing images with its stakeholder groups, build a strong, trusted corporate brand ("the company behind the brands") and develop reputational capital. The Corporate Communication Team enhances the company’s reputation and positively impacts its employees’ engagement by developing key messages and impactful storylines and communicating them to internal and external audiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Acts as spokesperson for adidas globally on specific topics as assigned, e.g.  financial, strategy, corporate or HR and workplaces topics or others
  • Creates and implements coherent communication plans
  • Organizes media events and press conferences
  • Prepares active and reactive communication measures and content for assigned topics
  • Acts as trusted business partner and communication consultant to the business within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Positions adidas as a leading company in news and business media globally by managing media relations effectively
  • Ensures leading share of voice for adidas in select media globally
  • Establishes solid relations with international key business partners
  • Manages alignment process with markets and brands in terms of media relations globally
  • Creates understanding and engagement for adidas corporate strategy inside and outside the company for assigned area of responsibility
  • Key contributor to press office in its successful day-to-day operations (e.g. media relations, events, briefing + messaging docs)
  • Works towards the achievement of department targets

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to maneuver in consistently changing environment
  • Thorough understanding of the complexity, interactions and dynamics within an international company
  • Excellent communication expertise, both written and verbal (quality, consistency and accuracy)
  • Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent writing, organizational, social media and event planning skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational plans
  • Experience in financial and earnings communication
  • Interest in world affairs and business
  • Hands-on, can-do attitude
  • Passion for sport

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • University degree in business studies/finance or communication or similar
  • Comprehensive and proven understanding of communication of finance and business topics
  • 6-8 years relevant experience
  • Experience as spokesperson, in Corporate Media Relations or in Investor relations of global organization
  • Network among corporate media in Germany and other key markets is a plus
  • German native speaker and business fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and event planning skills
  • High degree of customer orientation
