We’ll never launch a product unless we consider it perfect. Our product operations teams create every shirt, every shoe and every piece of equipment for thousands of athletes and fashion lovers as if it was one of a kind. And it truly is, as they weave their passion into every single product. But translating designs, drawings and renderings into real products requires a lot of decision making. 

As Technical Manager Textile Technologies you are responsible for STRUNG related product creation providing effective transition of designs from prototyping to production. You will maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers in the field of STRUNG technologies to stay ahead on complex and innovative designs and technologies in regards of the product creation process. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Prototype and implement new & innovative STRUNG designs, components and concepts into a manufacturable and marketable finished product. 

• Ensure that all materials are engineered to cost, visual & functional demands and meet quality, legal & testing requirements. 

• Support of the entire development process for assigned products or concepts. Ensure the quality of product development and timely completion of all tasks in accordance with the applicable operating calendar  

• Document achievements, trials and research. 

• After being trained, program and operate the STRUNG machines for concept or inline product creation 

• Translate designs into specific programs utilizing yarn, machine and post processing knowledge to achieve the functional or visual goal requested 

• Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with Business Units and other teams within the company (i.e. Materials, Design, Development, Innovation, Sourcing, Costing or external suppliers) 

Key Relationships:  

• Design, Inline Development, Pattern Engineering, Innovation Department, Materials Development, Supply, Testing, Costing, Sourcing Organization, Marketing, T1, T2, T3, etc. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

• Experience with textile technologies (e.g. Embroidery, Weft knitting technologies, Weaving, yarn development or production, etc.) 

• Experience programming textile technology machine software 

• Good knowledge of fibers, yarns and textile manufacturing 

• Manage and prioritize projects in an effective, timely and technical goal oriented manner 

• Technical training in footwear or apparel engineering and product development; industry experience 

• State of the art computer literacy (Digital communication and documentation) 

• Presentation skills 

• Fluent English language skills, German beneficial 

• Exposure to the latest in materials, components, processes and concepts 

• Ability to travel to production sources and the terrain of testing 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in textile technologies, textile design or equivalent  

• Proven record of accomplishment in the field of footwear/apparel development preferred 

• 1 years minimum related work experience in Embroidery, Weft knitting or other related industry. Specialized in programming and/or operating textile manufacturing machines 

• Embroidery, Weft knit or other machine manufacturer training certificates preferred
