Inventory Lead - Reporting

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


This hourly position supports the operations leadership team by:  monitoring the integrity of inventory audits; cycle counts and transactions; checking that the inventory in the distribution center (DC) is accurate; ensuring Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) standards are followed and established procedures are maintained.   Works directly with Inventory Control Manager, to review and standardize processes, and assist with the development of new procedures as needed to maintain inventory integrity while still meeting compliance standards with FTZ guidelines/requirements.  The role will be very technical and require strong computer, analytical and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Secure and report the daily inventory cycle counts to ensure that the facility is counted once per quarter.  
  • Assess inventory balance between the warehouse and SAP inventory through routine monitoring and communicate discrepancies noted
  • Monitor daily inventory transactions and report any discrepancies
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).  Work with the Training team as need to help develop trainings designed to maintain the integrity of DC inventory
  • Collect, monitor and report inventory transactions using SAP, Excel, queries and Warehouse Management System (WMS) reporting
  • Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure issues and resolutions are clearly understood
  • Ensure all DC auditing processes are followed, monitored and reported
  • Work with the Operations team on root cause analysis and process improvements based on audit failures
  • Incorporate compliance findings to drive process improvements within the DC
  • Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely
  • Complete daily business goals, projects and other duties as assigned in an accurate, thorough and timely manner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
  • Performance and metrics driven mindset
  • Operate radio frequency hand-held units (“RF Guns”)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of WMS concepts
  • SAP knowledge/experience preferred
  • Advanced MS Office skills preferred


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • regularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to twelve (12) hours/day
  • able to work in a warehouse environment
  • able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
  • occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • ability to operate lift equipment (training and certification can be certified once onsite) and work in areas as high as 35 feet from the ground


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • 2 years or more of Inventory Control experience in a warehouse environment; or equivalent education and experience.
