Manager, Buying Concept Stores

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

 

Prepare and manage the buying process for Concept Stores for Running, Outdoor, Training and Sportswear Footwear. Actively contribute to the OTB planning and management, defining optimal volumes to provided channel ranges. Execute in-season Trading decisions to meet financial targets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Following Channel Ranges provided by Market CTC Assortment Plan teams, contribute to the buying process for the assigned channels and assure right volumes are bought following Market OTB plans 
  • Support the submission of initial seasonal forecasts into applicable systems for horizontal review by global functions at key milestones
  • Prepare the size breakdowns process assuring they are created according to market needs and incorporated in the buying process
  • Provide market in-season trading, assuring timely sales forecast by product, stock intakes and in-season markdowns
  • Provide data led input to Market CTC Assortment Planning teams to influence range needs by store tier
  • Execute according to market relevant store tiering process following global store tiering guidance, in collaboration with CTC Assortment Planning teams
  • Execute effective flow of stock from regular DTC channels to FO channels to assure product relevance in regular stores, adequate stock clearance and margin optimization
  • Recap business weekly/monthly/seasonally and react to business needs as they arise in a timely manner 
  • Create a supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development
  • Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and objectives.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team, coach, provide a framework for performance and build talent up within the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Relevant job experience in a Buying function, and fully qualified and trained
  • Combined broad theoretical and practical knowledge including company policies and practices
  • Good understanding of brand builidng and consumer perspective
  • Strong influencer and natural collaborator
  • Holistic thinker, establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions
  • Strong competence with Buying procedures and systems

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years typical relevant work experience
  • University degree in business, ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience
