Manager, Costing Apparel

Purpose:  

  • Identify business improvement areas and facilitation of appropriate working methods to improve supplier and liaison office efficiency
  • Actively manage the evolution of vendors to deliver on supplier improvement targets
  • Deliver an efficient LO costing process through the development and education of defined process and tools.
  • Develop people capabilities, train educate and elevate knowledge level on business work drivers

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a basic SMV (Standard Minute Value) database to ensure accuracy, consistency and fairness across the LO supply base
  • Lead & conduct the seasonal supplier SMV audits, compile results & manage escalations to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Liaise with our supply base and costing teams to ensure we maintain consistency and integrity in approach to generating SMVs, effectively dealing with enquiries both internal and external.
  • Leading global initiatives FOB mitigation project to increase factory efficiency through Method alignment/best practice sharing projects
  • Support the Costing Director in collecting relevant data/information for the region for projects as well as participating in projects
  • Support role out of Costing Standards and improvement of global costing policies and procedures within regions to achieve a fact based, transparent and sustainable costing
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Excellent (ME) Team and Apparel Sourcing Operations team to understand objectives, goals and expectations and apply steps locally to achieve our goals
  • Be a driver of change, seeking new ways to improve the business, its efficiency and company profitability
  • Train and support Merchandising teams and T1s in the understanding and application of cost drivers (e.g. Yield, Print, L&OH, etc) costing frameworks, policies and process, including application of consistent, accurate and transparent cost sheets

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • 6S or Lean background would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English essential
  • Good presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Some technical experience of apparel operations would be an advantage
     

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • University/ Diploma or degree from educational entity focusing on economics
  • 2 -4 years of relevant working experience
