HR Manager, Distribution Center Operations

Purpose:  Support Distribution Center site operations by evaluating the recruitment and staffing plan, managing relationships with onsite staffing agencies/vendors, implementing new policies/procedures and providing a professional approach to employee relations, policy adherence and disciplinary decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the delivery of human resources processes and procedures to ensure the development of key Operations talent given the needs of the business
  • Lead the manpower planning process in conjunction with all Operations departments 
  • Solicit resources both internally and externally to appropriately execute human resources strategies
  • Partner closely with line management in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement. 
  • Develop policies to support operational objectives and company employee initiatives as well as track progress towards organizational goals through established metrics
  • Manages and develops the Human Resources Assistant Manager as well as all other direct reports as assigned
  • Provide support to management and employees on various human resource matters including, discipline and performance management, employment law compliance, policy interpretation, compensation and benefits
  • Serve as point of escalation for various HR Services ticket requests in order to help bring resolution on open employee issues
  • Ownership for the Unemployment Claims process, including processing claims, reviewing determinations & appeals and attending all hearings on behalf of adidas
  • Establish and perform formalized onboarding and training for new managers and all new associates
  • Other HR duties as deemed appropriate to support the organization

  • Entire organization from executive level managers to production associates
  • Other adidas HR Managers and support

 

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Exercises judgement within defined practices and policies
  • Ability to select appropriate methods and techniques for resolving problems
  • Solid understanding of employment regulations, i.e. EEO Laws, FMLA, COBRA, FLSA and unemployment insurance processing
  • Ability to design and implement recruitment programs
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook and HRIS systems (SAP, ADP, Kronos, etc.)
  • Self-starter needing little or no supervision
  • Ability to multi-task adjusting to sudden changes in priorities
  • Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA or equivalent professional certification in HR, business administration or similar
  • Five to seven years of human resources experience, with a minimum of 4 years at a management level most preferably in a light industrial, warehouse or manufacturing operations facility
  • Strong employee relations, staffing, and benefits experience
  • Strong PC skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
