Manager, Production Costing Apparel

Purpose:  

  • Identify business improvement areas and facilitation of appropriate working methods to improve supplier and liaison office efficiency
  • Actively manage the evolution of vendors to deliver on supplier improvement targets
  • Deliver an efficient LO costing process through the development and education of defined process and tools.
  • Develop people capabilities, train educate and elevate knowledge level on business work drivers

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of individual vendor action plans to improve efficiency levels enabling successful achievement of milestones and business goals.
  • Build and manage a basic SMV (Standard Minute Value) database to ensure accuracy, consistency and fairness across the LO supply base.
  • Promote the introduction of this data as the basis for allocations, planning and costing.
  • Liaise with our supply base and costing teams to ensure we maintain consistency and integrity in approach to generating SMVs, effectively dealing with enquiries both internal and external.
  • Leading global initiatives FOB mitigation project to increase factory efficiency through Method alignment/best practice sharing projects (added)
  • Lead & conduct the seasonal supplier SMV audits, compile results & manage escalations to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Handling E2E process for LO SMV costing alongside our supplier to create most efficient, competitive and standardized approach for labour cost
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Excellent (ME) Team and Apparel Sourcing Operations team to understand objectives, goals and expectations and apply steps locally to achieve our goals
  • Be a driver of change, seeking new ways to improve the business, its efficiency and company profitability.
  • Train and support LO teams and T1s in the understanding and application of SMV framework

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Min 3 Years apparel manufacturing experience in a work study or similar role
  • 6S or Lean background would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English essential
  • Good presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong Costing background (either in Footwear or Apparel industry).
  • Knowledge of Merchandising is a plus.

 
 
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Min 3 Years apparel manufacturing experience in a work study or similar role
  • Qualified GSD practitioner
  • University degree (Industrial Engineering, Production Engineer).
