Manager, Site EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)
Purpose:
The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for partnering with the DC Operations teams in Suzhou to execute company health and safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable global, regional, and local regulations; promote continuous improvement initiatives to achieve global 2025 H&S targets and reduce potential safety and occupation health/ergonomic risks in DC daily operation to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our employees and associates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle direction and execution of all written safety programs and policies as per global IMS standard and local regulations.
• Share and implement best practices with H&S global and local site operation teams.
• Lead safety training and awareness sessions for all employee and management teams.
• Participate as site representative in global H&S programs and initiatives.
• Design and implement required safety training programs and processes.
• Maintain all records and documentation in compliance with local government and ISO standards.
• Capture, analyse, and react to safety metrics and review weekly and monthly incident/near miss trends to discover patterns on areas where the safety risk is the highest.
• Assist in preparing required plans and appropriate site facility operating procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, associate staff behaviours, and DC processes to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate, consistent and in compliance.
• Keep Operations team informed of new and developing health and safety regulations.
• Ensure all health and safety incidents and accident are reported within the stipulated time, lead accident investigations, performing root cause analysis for all injuries and “near misses.”
• Leverage lean principles and kaizens to lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk in processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for all employees.
• Ensure vendors, contractors and third-party employees are compliant to global and local H&S standards.
• Response to all work-related injury & illness emergency.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned to support the organization.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of safety, environmental and occupational health/ergonomic standards and regulatory that impact operations.
• Must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing.
• Spend time at the site and seek input from facility and operation teams and head of the site on health and safety program improvement opportunities.
• Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.
• Experience interacting with cross functional teams.
• Comprehension and practical application of risk assessments.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to be flexible regarding shifts.
Requisite Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field as well as a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• 8+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or occupational health programs in manufacturing production, or service operations.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18000 system and/or 5S/lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
• Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of contract and temporary employees at a site of at least 500 people preferred.
• Certified Safety Engineer and/or ISO 14000/9000/18000 systems internal or external auditor preferred.
• Ability to travel (10%) as required.
