Manager, Sustainability, APAC

In view of the current global pandemic related to COVID-19 and the increased visa and border restrictions, we are unable to extend offers to candidates who are not currently in the physical location where this role will be based. Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Support in driving the execution of APAC priority initiatives, programs and projects as identified through the Global and APAC Strategic Plan (Own The Game) across brands, channels, and clusters/ countries.
  • To ensure sustainable net sales and market share growth by identifying, delivering and implementing end to end holistic business models that enable new commercial business propositions for the adidas Group in APAC.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in driving strategy execution by managing cross-functional initiatives (programs and projects linked to sustainability) that are priority for Global and APAC.
  • Support in preparing for end-to-end business cases and prioritize roll-out plans based on commercial needs and impacts on contribution (prioritize according to APAC SBP ambitions).
  • Support in conceptualizing and piloting new business models, accelerate initiatives that are stuck. Drive conceptual approaches into operational processes.
  • Work with virtual project teams to drive progress and land the initiatives.
  • Manage the alignment of Commercial, Brand, Finance, HR, Operations and other key stakeholders within APAC and across C/C.
  • Act as end-to-end internal consultant who plays a role of challenger and sparring partner to the business in context of the relevant Sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent strategy execution of APAC Sustainability initiative portfolio incl. tracking of agreed KPIs and support C/C Business Development Teams in driving and landing their respective initiatives
  • Prepare (and land) documentation and communication to main stakeholders [MD/GM/SVP/VP levels].

  • Market: Relevant Heads and Teams across Brands, Channels, Clusters/ Countries, Business Development C/C, Finance, SCM, IT, HR
  • Global: Brand strategy, GOPS Sustainability, Global Sales, Global Brands, Global Business Development, Sales Development, Channel Management, Global Brand PMO, support functions (MOPS, Finance, HR, IT)
  • Others: External Partners/Agencies

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record in Project/ Program Management, preferably with Business/ Management Consulting experience
  • Experience executing long- and short-term strategies/ strategic plans based on thorough understanding of the marketplace and commercial operating practices as well as financial principles
  • Ability to apply a strategic mindset and curiosity to embrace innovation and marketplace trends and reflect them into future business opportunities for the business
  • Ability to work on conceptual and operational level
  • Strong team player with ability to rally cross-functional project teams behind a joint direction and plan to achieve goals and objectives
  • Ability to leverage strong interpersonal skills (presentation, storytelling, influencing, communication etc.) to integrate senior cross-functional groups to drive decisions and joint understanding
  • Mental flexibility, adaptability, initiative and determination, positive, creative, energetic personality, able to influence the agenda and inspire others
  • Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English is a must.
  • IT skills:  advanced level in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Smartsheet. Any other a plus            
  • Proven passion for and professional exposure to Sustainability a plus

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in business administration or similar subject
  • Business: min. 3 years; ideally part in business/ management consulting
  • Project management i.e., project lead responsibility
  • Cross functional experience ideally with elements of operations/ strategic planning/ marketing/ sales/ finance
  • Industry: sporting goods/ retail/ consumer goods
