Manager, Visual Merchandising

Purpose/ Mission:

  • To build adidas retail business to be the number one sports brand through effective visual merchandising (VM) and retail presentation.
  • Effectively plan and implement Marketing campaigns according to the Marketing Calendar, ensuring visual merchandising standards to maximize sell-through performance in DTC (Own Retail) and Wholesale doors.
  • Drive sell-through by effectively implementing retail space projects in key doors according to best practices and in a consistent, cost-effective and premium way.
  • Work closely with relevant teams, agencies to ensure consistent execution in retail, creating a Market culture of excitement, and desire to win at the point of sale through optimal VM execution.



  • Be the VM champion who ensures best-in-class brand presence for adidas with full alignment with regional and local marketing (especially Omnichannel)
  • Support overall Marketing strategy for all channels (e.g. Key Accounts and Own Retail) to increase brand awareness and perception ◦Coordinate trade marketing implementation according to regional strategies and regional trade marketing calendar
  • Timely and impactful implementation in mono and multi-branded stores; timely and resourceful co-ordination with VM outsource.
  • Review current processes and provide solutions to improve and streamline the processes.
  • Ensure achievement of set trade marketing targets (i.e SIS roll out plan, VM/ISC executions in SIS and all adidas controlled spaces, campaign implementation etc)
  • Plan & execute retail marketing calendar across all channels (i.e Campaign rollout, route plans and VM plans for adidas controlled/ selling areas)
  • Ensure all campaign tools in retail touchpoints are premium with the budget in mind and in-store ISC/Planograms and VM standards are on track
  • Perform monthly rollout VM trainings under the concept of train-the-trainer to ensure local knowledge of VM standards & to measure its effectiveness
  • Provide effective product support to Store Operations team with Product Trainer
  • Manage, monitor and effectively spend assigned MWB◦Work with vendors to streamline costs and ensure adherence to procurement process
  • Set up sell-in event according to the agreed category/brand message from Omnichannel
  • New store openings – Manage entire process from store planning (with SD), fixtures ordering with hub, store VM plan, timeline, activations, training and other miscs roll out 
  • To observe both global and local policies and procedures in all dealings
  • Support global and SEA guidelines

  • Lead special projects if assigned


People Responsibilities:

  • Build a quality, brand building Visual Merchandising team, capable of providing value-added service to adidas.
  • Lead, motivate and provide coaching and immediate feedback to VM team
  • Full integration with country Marketing/DTC/Wholesale teams as well as with regional stakeholders
  • Manage supplier relationship (contractors, printers etc) to achieve efficiency and effectiveness

Professional background/ Education:

  • University degree in Marketing, Retail or Fine Arts
  • Preferably 5+ years’ experience in Visual Merchandising of which a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role with apparel/ fashion/ shoes or agencies industry exposure
  • Fluent in English
