Manager Sports Marketing

 

Purpose

  • This role plays an instrumental part in the way the brand is portrayed at Key cities in association with Authenticators / Sports Crews / Partners / Sports Influencers / Coaches / Instututions / Athletes and the global Sports market and ensures on a day to day basis that we continue to raise the awareness and image of adidas as the number one Global Sports Brand
  • adidas has always been associated with the best symbols and providing the best holistic service & community approach. This position relies heavily upon interpersonal skills and relationship building to achieve higher levels of customer expectations.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

To optimize and leverage the relationship between adidas and Key City Communities Projects, Brand Partners and Olympic Athlete portfolio (adidas Runners, Training, Multisports), and furthermore to set and implement the mutually agreed local & global community strategy.

 

Lead and manage key relationships at Key Cities with Authenticators / Sports Crews / Partners / Sports Influencers / Coaches / Instututions / Athletes and associated network; responsible for the effective application / implementation of contractual rights (e.g. partner activation).

 

Management of the entire Authenticators / Sports Crews / Partners / Sports Influencers / Coaches / Instututions approval process across all brand / business functions (Product, Brand marketing etc)

 

Ensure optimum servicing of Authenticators / Sports Crews / Partners / Sports Influencers / Coaches / Instututions by the adidas brand, fulfillment and optimization of all adidas’ contractual obligations. Oversee and ensure that all product requirements are met in full and on time.

 

Drive, steer and implement seasonal global and local marketing plans for the partners which deliver towards the overall strategic plan in partnership with key business functions.

 

Closely monitor and review industry dynamics and be sufficiently fluid and perceptive to adapt plans and shape strategies accordingly

 

Implement and track product endorsement strategies, ensuring the relevant products / technologies are endorsed at all times.

 

Effectively manage and implement budgets.

 

Spend considerable time at both adidas HQ and Key cities in order to steer processes effectively

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Manager with strong interpersonal, influencing skills (e.g., relationship management, facilitation) and broad marketing knowledge and experience.
  • Strategy – ability to provide input to and implement strategy
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Must be extremely well organized with a strong empathy and passion towards running, training and Olympic Sports.
  • Strong Communicationl/PR brackground would be appreciated.

· Strong Sports Marketing, PR &Communication skills

· Strong market, industry and commercial awareness

· Good negotiation skills

· Good interpersonal skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in marketing or communication
  • Experience in brand marketing disciplines.
  • Fluent in English (writing and verbal)
  • Deep knowledge in sports industry – key local market players, consumer behavior, trends, media and influencers.
