Manager Continuous Improvement (Blackbelt)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:


Global Business Services (GBS) designs, builds and operates consistent end-to-end business solutions for adidas, delivering services in the areas of finance, non-trade procurement and human resources.  This drives operating efficiency, better customer experience, company agility and decision making, and ensures the compliance and control environment.  This is enabled through consistent end-to-end processes, strong, globally consistent governance of solutions and services, state of the art technology and tools, creativity and continuous improvement.


The Manager, Continuous Improvement will drive continuous improvement within the GBS Center location, across all global processes delivered there.  He or she will support the development of the strategy for Quality and Continuous Improvement and the prioritisation of initiatives based on impact on customer experience and efficiency.  As a process improvement expert, the role holder will build process excellence solutions, advise on best practice and drive a continuous improvement mindset across all operational teams, coaching and driving for results.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive continuous improvement within the GBS Center location
  • Support the development of the strategy for Quality & Continuous Improvement and the prioritisation of initiatives based on impact on customer experience and efficiency
  • Develop and set the Q&CI mechanisms and procedures
  • Build process excellence solutions by leveraging operational excellence or six sigma methodologies
  • Deliver operational efficiencies, process harmonization and enhancements
  • Define and agree targets and guidelines for continuous improvement projects
  • Define approach to assess and prioritize continuous improvement annual plan in accordance with business priorities and impact on GBS operations
  • Act as a contact and Subject Matter Expert for enhancement projects within the GBS center location
  • Lead continuous improvement projects
  • Manage error root cause identification and define solution handling
  • Identify, develop and share best practices across operational teams
  • Drive the continuous improvement mindset across teams

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Comprehensive understanding of E2E-processes in Global Business Services
  • Extensive experience of Continuous Improvement methodologies (both theoretical and practical application)
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex situatiosn and develop innovative solutions within a changing environment
  • Experience of providing clear guidance and in instructions to operational teams and coaching
  • Complete familiarity with Microsoft Office or equivalent tools
  • Knowledge of SAP FI and CO a plus


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • University degree or equivalent experience, preferable in accounting or business administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the area of end-to-end process improvement and/ process standardization
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
