Manager Costing APP

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

Drive the overall optimization of product value (engineered cost) and profitability for CCA BUs.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Operational framework:

 

  • Be a key contributor to Creation Centre growth and profitability by gaining a full understanding of its business potential, anticipating requirements and proposing cost-based solutions to achieve Brand adidas objectives
  • In collaboration with Sourcing costing, CCS BU Planning and Development, contribute to allocation strategies to ensure margin maximization in investigating potential of new sources and trade agreements
  • Act as a consultant partner within the respective Creation Centre team.
  • Provide technical costing expertise to engineer product to cost and enable design to profitability
  • Strategically manage globally assigned cost drivers and develop an E2E costing framework to enable saving opportunities and ensure cost optimization by creating a fact based and predictable costing environment
  • Seasonal allocation strategy base on costing

 

Daily costing support:

 

  • Ensure availability of costing performance results for CCS Business Unit/Brand at each key milestone for quantitative assessment to facilitate product value/margin/FOB discussion with cross-functional teams, recommend tactical actions/adjustment in season
  • Trainings and alignment with x-functional team on new standards / guidelines and costing policies/strategies
  • Support Marketing to identify target FOB
  • Support x- functional team during predictive costing with regards to cost drivers know-how
  • Support the definition and the monitoring of product costing performance and costing process performance at the key development stages by setting the framework, the KPIs and the communication process
  • Support development or enhancement of systems and process to ensure costing requirements are met and to improve costing performance
  • Standardized FOB / Landed / GIM cost management
  • Ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure all duty opportunities have been optimized

  • Design, Marketing and  Product Operations – Development , Materials, Pattern Maker
  • LO/OC Merchandising, and Costing
  • Global Costing horizontal team, and HK costing team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Expert functional Knowledge e.g. material construction, cost drivers management, garment construction and manufacturing within a supplier and the entire supply chain (e2e)
  • Effectively communicate, influence and negotiate (both written and verbal) and to lead discussions in small and large groups
  • Coach, mentor, manage and develop direct reports, as well as act as an advocate to internal and external teams
  • Effectively delegate work as appropriate and provide individual goals and development plans to staff
  • Anticipate problems, offers solutions and develops strategies through to resolution.
  • Manage through change, make decisions and act comfortably with risk and uncertainty
  • Clearly articulate goals and objectives to direct reports and senior management
  • Understand sourcing allocation impact on product from a quality and cost perspective
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong IT skills ( MS office, PDM, CAD )
  • Travel, domestic and international as required by business needs

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Four-year college or university degree with emphasis on clothing technology and/or manufacturing
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the garment/textile industry
