Manager Digital Technologies Footwear (m/f/d) - Product Operations

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

Become part of Advanced Creation to provide functional expertise for product creation technologies. Here, as part of the Digital Creation program we research, develop, maintain and evolve tools, systems and processes.

In this role you are responsible for the product backlog suggesting priorities, scope, and schedule across a broad spectrum of stakeholders from different functions, both internal and external.

The project requires continuous research and the ability to derive a technology strategy for our strategic 3D application.


Key Responsibilities:    

  • Researches, evaluates and benchmarks innovative 3D applications/technologies and aligns the related findings with the Director Creation technologies
  • Creates and continuously improves an industry leading 3D technology set up within the adidas Group
  • Able to leverage general product design and development processes to drive implementation of business relevant 3D technology innovations
  • Translates complicated technological facts into business opportunities
  • Manages the interfaces with external business partners by representing adidas and its strategy and translating these in an understandable manner to the external technology providers
  • Communicates and presents new 3D technology opportunities and process technologies to  internal interfaces to ensure the technology development meets customers’ expectations
  • Set strategy and conducts technical trainings for Product Development, Design, Marketing, Liasion Offices (LOs) and vendors to ensure all involved teams can work effectively with newly implemented and existing applications
  • Establishes advanced working relationships and a people’s network with internal and external technology experts.
  • Earns reputation and recognition as an expert for relevant footwear 3D applications within adidas
  • Supports process technology researches by visiting fairs, conferences and using the internet.
  • Conducts trainings of all process related technologies/applications to internal customers, creates training plans and tracks training results.
  • Provides technology expertise to Manager Creation Technologies and levels below

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in product ownership
  • Excellent software knowledge/skills (CGI applications, CAD software, virtual reality, graphic software).
  • Ability to translate complex technical circumstances into business relevant facts
  • Robust product creation & virtualization process knowledge
  • Knowledge of manufacturing/engineering technologies
  • Strong team player/communicator with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work with diverse groupsand a proven skill at problem solving and innovation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills (Illustrator, MS Office)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) 
  • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree or comparable education in multimedia art, media informatics, industrial design and/ or computer graphics
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
