Manager Financial Accounting



Key Responsibilities: 


• Manage and lead at least two (AR Wholesale/ Retail/eCom) teams between 9 - 20 people within multiple markets or areas Or alternatively have at least two P1s (Senior Accountants or Team Leads) as direct reports often within a context of complex markets. Ensures full responsibility for team performance and execution in accordance with defined KPI‘s and in compliance with SLA

• Responsible for HR related processes like Performance Reviews, recruiting, talent management and development

• Support Director and drive company Mission and Vision, ensuring regular communication with the teams (direct and indirect reports)

• Implements department strategies

• Ensure Business Partner (BP) satisfaction and complaints resolution

• Promote cross-functional collaboration, assuming a coordinative role between department tactics and operational objectives

• Design and drive process standardization, efficiency improvement projects and ensure adequate process changes and respective communication to team and BP (SME only)

• Active communication and issue resolution with BP in order to optimize their satisfaction with service provided

• Ensure compliance with Group Finance Manual standards and legal and tax requirements of the companies served (the latter as detailed in the local SLA’s) 

• Design and drive for simplification of processes and implement common processes wherever possible (SME only)

• Key contact for other departments in regard to accounting or service questions

• Develop and be responsible for KPIs; Build up and overall monitor appropriate quality controls

• Oversee and be responsible for internal and external audit

• Work is independent and collaborative in nature

Job Description - 

 Convinces others within and/ or outside the organization to accept modified standards or concepts with common desire to reach agreement

• Lead and drive projects, e.g. eCom system implementation, retail system upgrade, retail business model change

• During transitions: 

• Be inbound manager for AR scope

• Ensure proactive and positive cooperation with local teams during and after each transition; 

• Ensure that all processes are fully implemented in-house before sign-off and aligned as much as possible with the standard processes

• Ensure transition sign off readiness

· Detailed knowledge and know-how of General Ledger accounting under IFRS, especially related to accounting for derivative transactions and investments (IAS 39 and 36) 

· Excellent knowledge and deep know-how of local GAAP for derivative and hedge accounting

· Good knowledge in the use of SAP FI through proven work experience 

· Strong communication skills (especially to help drive intercompany reconciliation and process improvement across multiple markets)

· Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting 

· Proven ability to manage a diverse team 

· Ability to pay close attention to detail, and analyse complex details and calculations 


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


· High school degree or equivalent experience, preferably in accounting or business

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the area of accounting 

· Proven work experience in people management/demonstrated ability to manage a small medium-sized team

· (Internationaler) Bilanzbuchhalter/ ACCA or similar professional qualification
