Manager Sports & Culture Marketing - BU Sportswear & Training

The Sports & Culture Marketing area owns the responsibility for building the most impactful and effective portfolio of relationships in the training industry, and across the ‘sports culture’ landscape.  The team is dedicated to ensuring our contractual partnerships and industry relationships inspire consumers, embody our messages and beliefs, all in support of our never-ending objective to be the Best Sports Brand in the World...

 

Empowered to act strategically and decisively, the Manager, ‘Individuals | Facilities | Events” role is tasked with identifying and nurturing business-relevant, professional relationships across the training industry and sport-culture landscapes. Through calculated preparation, cross-functional alignment, and industry networking, the role supports the full scope of portfolio management, with a crystalized focus on the core pillars of strategy development, industry scouting, negotiations & rights coordination, integration planning and relationship servicing.

 

In the end, by engaging with global colleagues across Marketing, Product, and Design as well as various levels of our business, from Regions-to-Markets-to-Sales, this role helps shape and support a portfolio of category partnerships that personify our brand, innovate our products and truly represent the Greatest Sports Brand in the World.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Support awareness and implementation of the Global Sportswear & Training Partner strategy, facilitating adoption and realization of the strategic approach globally, as well as within markets

 

  • Support, with the Senior Director Sports & Culture Marketing, the key pillars of Portfolio Management for the Sportswear & Training category portfolio of partners

 

  • Represent the adidas Brand in conversation, negotiations and Day-2-Day management/interactions across the training and sport cultural landscape, both internally and externally

 

  • Orchestrate and Coordinate the interaction of our partners with internal and external business areas (e.g. Marketing, Digital, Agencies) to ensure the use of partners’ achievements, stories and appearances across defined consumer touch-points

 

  • Define, Align and Implement annual Partner Integration Plans (incl. e.g. product strategy, Retail, Digital, Brand and Category activation) considering the short, mid and long-term adidas Brand and category vision

 

  • Support the development and collection of product insights (ex. testing results and product feedback) from our partners in close cooperation with Product Marketing, Development and Design as well as Product Creation

 

  • Prepare, Organize and Communicate partner content for internal use; including partner profiles, integration plans/calendars and rights-usage information on a systematic basis

 

  • Continuously Develop industry expertise and diverse functional knowledge to support role responsibilities, category needs and portfolio innovations

 

  • Act and Support as a sweeper for any project and/or brand relevant requests from partners

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 3 to 4 years Marketing (Sports, Entertainment or Brand) with proven experience or background in relationship management
  • University degree, or ‘University of Life’ experience if you can sell-us on the relevance.
  • Hungry, positive, agile, inclusive, and able to think differently
  • Proven track record of growth, development and success across various functions, areas, and activities
  • Applied Passion and/or knowledge of the Training category/industry and active interest in Sport.
  • Direct working relationships with key markets/regions or relevant experience working in a focus adidas market.
