Manager Membership - EM South

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Membership is one of the key focus areas of our ‘Own the Game’ strategy and the Membership Manager is central to embedding and executing this key strategic program in South Africa with a strong focus on our key City, Joburg. The objective is to fuel the growth ambitions of the company, with the overarching goal to acquire new members and drive conversion, engagement & loyalty through constant innovation and carefully curated value proposition aimed at exciting, engaging & satisfying our key consumer groups.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key responsible position in the South African organization to drive membership opportunities.
  • Analyzing our consumer behavior to understand existing eCom and membership drivers.
  • Responsible for creating and executing the Membership strategy & initiatives across brand, experiential and commercial moments. Create new innovative drivers to acquire and retain new members.
  • Manage the Marketing budget for all Membership activity.
  • Accountability for delivering on Membership KPI’s, analyzing dashboards & data and reporting back to the wider business.
  • Key point of contact for Emerging Markets Membership team.
  • Champion Membership first mentality within South African organization.
  • Close collaboration with Own Retail to make full use of consumer touchpoints & Sports Marketing and Cultural Marketing to leverage partner portfolio to drive membership.
  • Evolve existing frameworks and drive strategic planning based on learnings during implementation & execution

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation & influencing skills
  • Good understanding of digital marketing & relevant social media platforms
  • Good Project Management expertise
  • Experience in the field of Consumer Marketing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in dealing with cross-functional organization
  • Analytical and disciplined in post analysis for campaigns
  • Adequate knowledge of the sporting goods industry
  • Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business with Marketing (Digital) focus as an advantage and/or a minimum of 4 years in Marketing and/or Sales and/or Branded Retail.
  • Experience in consumer and/or sporting goods industries is preferred.
  • Cross-functional experience ideally with / digital / marketing / sales / IT
  • Experience with digital apps, membership programs and digital marketing is a plus
  • Fluent in English.
