Manager Procurement Procurement Excellence NAM

Purpose & overall relevance for the organization:


This role will implement global procurement strategies, processes and systems within the adidas NAM organization and is the single point of contact for procurement related topics in the area of reporting, training and compliance. This function will play a key role in driving harmonization and therefore efficiency within the area of Procurement Excellence across the globe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Become a business partner towards internal Procurement customers, form a strong relationship with Category Managers, understand business and team objectives and align procurement activities and priorities accordingly.
  • Monitor and report on compliance to processes, standards and guidelines as well as identify continuous improvement potential and new opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Collect data and conduct analyses, together with the Global Business Service team, on internal factors such as spend and customer requirements
  • Generate reports with the respective findings, the scenarios considered and recommended actions to the respective stakeholders in the area of e.g. PO’s, invoices, payment terms, supplier types.
  • Drive the change and realization of identified continuous improvement potentials, continuously refining the programs to deliver optimal results for the company.
  • Manage and participate in the creation and implementation of global projects such as Savings Methodology, Procurement Policy, Category Cards under consideration of regional needs and dependencies.
  • Secure knowledge transfers and exchange by storing and maintaining project deliverables and templates.
  • Strive to achieve process and system standardization in combination with the implementation of best practice sharing.
  • Continuous learning and development of procurement knowledge and methodologies
  • Act as an ambassador of procurement within the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep Knowledge of Sourcing Processes (Source to Pay, Buying Channels, etc.)
  • Experience on developing and implementing P2P processes in complex organizations
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, such as TCO and life cycle of products/services, business partnering
  • Knowledge of the Non-Trade Services landscape, new technologies and procedural best practices
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
  • Capability to independently interact throughout the organization
  • Excellent Project management knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/Ariba a plus
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • International, diverse mindset


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience within a procurement environment, preferably with project or supplier management exposure
