Manager Project Development and Capacity Building

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION

  • Main Task: To support senior manager of Project development and capacity building to execute SEA work plan especially related to social fields in supply chain which including monitoring, advisory and capacity building for social program implementation.
  • Additional Task: To support the North Asia director to be PIC of selected factories.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Social Projects
  • Executing the Worker Empowerment programs workplan as assigned by Senior Manager Field Operation – Project Development and Capacity Building
  • Support the Senior Manager Field Operation – Project Development and Capacity Building in managing the implementation of all Worker Empowerment programs globally  
  • Support the Senior Manager Field Operation – Project Development and Capacity Building in communication to suppliers, service providers and internal SEA team members on Worker Empowerment programs.

 

  1. Social Indicator Data in Supply Chain
  • Support Senior Manager Field Operation – Project Development and Capacity Building in data tracking and analysis of social indicators in EMeReT.
  • The Key PIC in maintaining the social data management in EMeReT including creating new or revising existing data positions.

 

  1. Capacity Building and Training Program
  • Support Senior Manager Field Operation – Project Development and Capacity Building in providing technical training and support in order to ensure smooth Worker Empowerment programs in suppliers.
  1. For additional Task
  • Support Director Field Operation North Asia to monitor the selected factories in South China including monitoring, advisory sessions, RFT validation and SKPI assessment.  

 

 

Key Relationships  

  • Related LO Sourcing Colleagues and other relevant LO function.
  • Supplier’s management and their social compliance team.
  • Selected service providers to support Worker Empowerment programs execution
  • International and local NGOs and trade unions
  • Government officials in the labour, social welfare, safety and environmental agencies in each of the countries within the region
  • Other senior managers within SEA Global team.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiar with Project Management Knowledge and Skill
  • Familiar with adidas business operation, especially the sourcing activities in the region
  • Able to write clearly and succinctly in English and to get messages across that have the desired effect
  • Able to communicate effectively both inside and outside the organisation, on hard data and controversial topics and can commands attention and be impactful and influential
  • Able to skilfully negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
  • Able win concessions without damaging relationships and can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic, when required
  • Familiar with the Labour and Health & Safety Standards (Workplace Standards and local regulations)

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications     

 

  • University Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resource Management, Law or related Fields. 
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing industry with focus on compliance, with at least three years in the area of occupational health & safety
  • Written Communication - is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect.
  • Language – Knowledge of local language and dialects in country of operation.  Fluent written and spoken English.

Presentation Skills - Effectiveness in a variety of formal presentations, one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports and business partner’s factory management
