Distribution Center Planning

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Manages the planning, review, and release of all daily orders and waves to ensure that productivity is maximized, and capacity utilization is optimized in accordance with the overall strategic plan of the Productivity Planning department.  Maintains customer requirements in conjunction with DC KPIs and Supply Chain initiatives to achieve accurate and timely outbound shipments. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Build daily wave release plans to ensure orders are available to the operation to meet expected service level agreements. 
•    Ensure daily wave release plans are in alignment with the shipping schedule and coordinated with the Routing team to allow for optimal building flow, such as Pack and Hold Bypass, and ensure timely and accurate shipments for all accounts.
•    Monitor daily waving goals to ensure targets and KPIs are achieved.
•    Manage and create transparency to problem orders, in a proactive and timely manner, while working to resolve and communicate issues to both internal and external partners for assistance.  
•    Drive Process Improvement initiatives that support Performance Metrics, KPIs, Wave Planning, Routing and Distribution.
•    Work closely and collaboratively with other SCM departments, specifically Reporting and Analytics, to enhance the efficiency of Wave Planning tools and processes.
•    Partner with Productivity Planning functions and DC Operations personnel to ensure facility and departmental objectives and targets are met.  
•    Drive transparency and manage dependencies across key initiatives for US Distribution at both an operational and senior level by ensuring the appropriate tools, reports and visibility are available.  
•    Associated ad-hoc responsibilities supporting US Distribution operations.

•    Distribution: Routing, Productivity Planning, DC Operations, Reporting & Analytics, Inventory Control
•    Supply Chain Management: Compliance and Transportation.
•    Customer Service / Sales.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    In-depth knowledge of end-to-end Distribution processes with Logistics and/or Distribution Center / Planning emphasis.
•    Execute a high degree of analytical and logical thinking, as well as management skills related to all aspects of distribution planning operations.
•    Ability to collaborate and influence a diverse team representing multiple Brands and channels.
•    Excellent communication skills across different levels of the organization / business.
•    Strong computer skills/knowledge required – MS Office suite and WMS.  Advanced querying and data analysis techniques is a plus.  
•    Proven ability to achieve and exceed goals, objectives and critical deadlines with good planning and organizational skills.
•    Ability to perform in a fast-paced setting, constantly adapting to a change-oriented environment.
•    Strong team player with the ability to lead and work with diverse groups.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Five years relevant work experience and/or training
  2. Four-year college or university degree, preferred.
  3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  4. Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  5. Previous Planning, Distribution, Shipping and/or WMS experience, preferred
