adidas and Kuehne+Nagel have started a strategic partnership for a highly automated, omni-channel dedicated fulfilment centre in Mantova.

Launching in 2024, the fulfilment centre will support adidas stores, retail shops, wholesalers and e-commerce customers in 19 countries throughout Southern and Eastern Europe.

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As an integral part of the European Supply Chain operation the Supply Chain Analyst is supporting to ensure best in class service provided by the Distribution Center (Campus South) service provider. Close alignment on a day-to-day basis with our external warehouse providers as well as internal stakeholder will ensure the achievement of our service level targets.

 

The Supply Chain Analyst will ensure that our external providers have transparency about short and mid-term volume forecasts, creates visibility on any risks and define actions to overcome to ensure best in class service to our consumers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share and discuss operational forecast with suppliers. In case of open questions, address concerns and escalate internally. In case of actual deviation to forecast, follow-up with line manager and other key stakeholders (adidas and 3PL), to optimize FC accuracy, supporting SLA achievement and minimizing cost impact.
  • Work as a key contact for DC service team, including Interface Management teams, working closely together to ensure communications to and from the DC are effective and issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
  • Work as a key contact for Finance and Accounting teams for all topics related to Campus South (e.g. Finance forecast and budget submissions). Ensure 3PL provides input and responses as per agreed timelines, ensuring accuracy to avoid future alignment topics.
  • Control, validate and when necessary, approve invoices (in accordance to any value thresholds or dispute processes agreed with line manager) submitted by Campus South service provider for all related services
  • Create and Maintain POs for Campus South (incl. warehouse services, consumables,…) & drive approval processes, ensuring line manager is involved in case of dispute. Ensure 3PL replenishment process is fit for purpose and optimized from both a cost and risk of shortage perspective.
  • Monitor all operational KPIs, work closely with 3PL counterpart and adidas stakeholders to explain deviations from targets (communicate to internal/external stakeholders) and escalate to line manager in case of continuing issues.
  • Discuss and validate contractual SLAs with suppliers and communicate to internal stakeholders after final alignment. Ensure trends are reviewed and escalations are in place in case there is risk or actual impact to business performance.
  • Responsibility to ensure all reporting for Campus South is in place and escalate where necessary to line manager in case of dispute. Ensure timely and pro-active distribution within adidas / 3PL. Work on internal requests to ensure all reports remain aligned with adidas standard and 3PL actions necessary changes in a timely manner.
  • Participate and where necessary coordinate / facilitate performance management review meetings with 3PL and other adidas stakeholders (ensuring agreed cadence with line manager). Be in a position to challenge 3PL in case performance is not meeting expectations.
  • In conjunction with line manager, take over the responsibility of collecting and managing DC Data to measure and monitor KPI, Productivity, SLA and throughput progress (in conjunction with 3PL). Own transparency and communication for all relevant content. Where necessary develop and create meaningful dashboards and transparency on forecast, capacity, and progress. Fulfill ad hoc data requests. Validate and enhance existing or create new reports in Excel, SCI, Power BI and Microstrategy.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluent in English; Italian (will be an advantage)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), knowledge of SAP AFS and WMS functions
  • Profound BI-tool knowledge (e.g. powerBI), knowledge of data modelling
  • First knowledge on warehousing and logistics processes gained
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal/external business partners
  • Strong analytical skills and end-to-end logistics / supply chain mindset
  • Reliable working style with a high sense of accountability

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • College or university degree with a focus on Transport/Logistics/Supply Chain preferred; alternatively equivalent combination of education and related work experience in the field of Logistics
  • Min. 2 years progressive working experience within Transport/Logistics/Supply Chain
