Specialist, Category Planning

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Deliver category range plans within guidelines set by APAC BU and aligned to the global brand direction.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Originals, Skateboarding, and the Basketball category range plan within the aligned country RA

• Work with CP Manager to understand and deliver on category strategy

• Assist in all category ranging and assortment planning

• Develop market and consumer insights

• Perform category analysis including sell-thru, forecasting, pricing corridor & segmentation compliance, etc.

• Work within E2E calendar timelines & deliverables

• Support local pricing, ensuring pricing harmonization

• Support with volume forecast and define product mix to achieve Margin and net Sales targets and forecast accuracy

• Support with sample ordering (pre-sell / SMS)

• Ensure global systems are up to date with country/cluster information, i.e. RMA / M3

• Local system management i.e. Hublight / MDM / MDC

• Gathering market insights and competition intelligence (category level) - feedback to EM CTC

• Work with the Brand Activation team on the seasonal category brand calendar

• Collaborate with all departments to support the E2E deliverables, system set up, and campaign deliverables.

• Support the broader CTC team with the GTM process


Key Relationships: Follow manager relationships as a guide

· Brand Team – AP, RA, MOPS, Comms & SPOMA

· Sales teams

· EM Business Units

· Finance/ Demand Planning, Business Development

· DTC Channels – Retail, Franchise and eCommerce


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office – Excel and PowerPoint key

· Strong numerical/analytical skills

· Structured, organized, and process orientated

· Ability to make fact-based decisions

· Collaborative with strong communication skills

· Exposure to other marketing disciplines preferable, e.g. merchandising, brand communication, or sales experience

· Ability to work effectively within a team environment under pressure


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· University degree in Business or Marketing preferred

· Category Management/ Ranging/ Merchandising Experience or account marketing/sales
