Assistant Manager HR - Retail (6 month LTD)

PURPOSE  


Provides professional level HR support to the Sr HR Manager and the broader Retail HR Manager team, and work on assigned HR projects.  Areas of support include employee engagement, employee relations, performance management and maintenance of personnel records, systems, and projects.  Contributes to the HR team by assisting with the implementation of retail HR strategies that will help elevate HR / Operational effectiveness. The Sr HR Manager will work with the Assistant HR Manager to support the creation and maintenance of efficient work processes and systems on behalf of the Retail organization. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


•    Partners closely with Retail HR team to ensure HR programs are implemented and supported thoughtfully and in accordance with adidas policy. 
•    Partners with the Store Managers, District Managers and Sr HR Manager to review and optimize store team performance through Performance Management, Employee Development, recruitment of non-management store talent and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. 
•    In partnership with Sr HRM and business leaders, support the implementation of organization design initiatives for identified stores through the review and redesign of Job Descriptions, org structure alignment throughout the fleet, employee communication and change management.
•    Provide general administrative HR support to the Sr. HR Manager/Retail HR Managers including, but not limited to: performance review process/review tool support, job posting, Short-Term Assignment process, offer letters, ER/investigation support, ER case entry, data expertise and ad hoc reporting.
•    Coordinate and support the retail fleet ADA, LOA and Workers Comp cases, in partnership with Retail HR Managers, HR Services and Rewards. 
•    Provides support to the Retail HR Managers and legal partners in response to and/or resolution of EEOC, DOL, OSHA and other labor and employment claims. 
•    Solve routine problems in HR in partnership with the Sr. HR Manager and/or HRM team: take initiative to propose modifications in process, policies, and systems as appropriate. 
•    Handles sensitive matters with a solid understanding of company policy and practice, ensuring actions limit potential liability.

•    Must possess strong analytical skills to assess data, facts, and figures used to improve the business and see hidden problems.
•    Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to learn and understand database concepts (SAP); experience with Smartsheets a plus.
•    Prior project management experience a plus: ability to juggle conflicting deadlines and ensure on time, quality completion of goals/projects.

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 


•    Four-year college or university degree
•    Minimum of 3 years HR generalist/specialist or related experience.
•    Prior experience working with Retail; relevant industry experience highly preferred.
•    Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
