Quality Supervisor - B Shift

B Shift, 6am – 6pm, Thu/Fri/Sat every other Sun

Purpose: This position directly supervises the Quality Inspector II positions, workflow and technical accuracy of the associates performing quality functions in the Manufacturing departments (Screen Print, Tech Fit, Embroidery, Digital, Heat Transfer and Sublimation). Ensures the product meets the quality standards of the division and of the brands.


Key Responsibilities:

  • PERFORMANCE REVIEWS - This position will have the authority to give feedback to Quality Inspector II employees either verbally or in writing to address behavior issues and performance problems. This position will also investigate and document Quality Inspector II personnel issues. This position is responsible for written disciplinary reports. This position will be expected to give annual reviews, disciplinary actions, recommendations for hiring and termination of Quality Inspector II associates.
  • STAFF PERFORMANCE – This position will be responsible for effectively utilizing staff by providing leadership, training and coaching. This position will look to improve the environment and the culture of the associates. This position will ensure that Quality employees are productive, adhering to company policies and procedures and completing all quality inspections. This position will coach and train the Quality Supervisors & Leads on how to troubleshoot and solve problems, so that the Quality Supervisors & Leads can make sound decisions.
  • STAFF ATTENDANCE – This position will be responsible for monitoring the Quality Inspector II’s attendance, to ensure that employees are clocking in/out properly with the correct codes and assigning & tracking occurrences. This position will also manage the Quality Inspector II’s FTO time and time off requests.
  • OVERSEE QUALITY STAFF ALLOCATION –This position will oversee that the Lead Quality Inspector is reallocating staff as needed to achieve targets and service levels. This position will be directly responsible for overseeing the Quality Staff and will support and be the back-up to the Lead Quality Inspectors and Quality Senior Inspectors. This position will also be responsible for allocating Quality staff to ensure all priority inspections are executed in a timely manner.
  • COMMUNICATION - This position will provide support to the management team by providing clear communication from a quality perspective, as this role directly impacts the daily fulfillment of orders. This position will communicate directly with all key stakeholders within the business unit. This position will be responsible effectively communicating to all levels of staff, including senior management.
  • EXCEPTIONAL SIGN OFFS – This position has the authority to sign off on VIP orders, Sample orders and any other significant/unusual orders that require special attention.
  • RECORDING DATA – This position will monitor the recorded key quality data to ensure accuracy and they will communicate potential issues to management and perform coaching and training when needed.  This position will also monitor that wash testing and crocking testing results are documented.
  • ANALYZING DATA & ROOT CAUSE – This position will analyze the recorded key quality data to ensure accuracy and they will communicate potential issues to management and perform coaching and training when needed.  This position will also analyze that wash testing and crocking testing results. This position will review root cause analysis and discuss ideas for improvement with management to mitigate future issues.
  • QUALITY LABORATORY – This position will partner with R&D on inspecting finished products for color, dimensions safety and durability using mechanical and/or electronic equipment or chemical analysis (example of testing equipment: Washer/Dryer, Crockmeter, Aging Oven, Cutters, Fabric Touch Tester, Grayscales, Strength Tester, Martindale Abrasion Tester, Perspiration Tester, Scorch Tester, Taber Abrasion Tester, etc). This position is responsible for performing routine tests to determine if the products meet certain standards. Conducting analyses of the samples, compiling data and interpreting the results. Ensuring that we are adhering to current adidas processes and procedures. Keeping the laboratory equipment in excellent condition.
  • INNOVATION & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT - This position will be responsible to partner with the Manufacturing Management Team to maintain and improve quality where necessary. This position will also be a champion of change by always challenging the status quo and offering new innovative ways of performing quality tasks that improve the Quality Department’s service levels.
  • TRAINING - This position will have been trained on all quality operations and will also be able to train others.
  • SAMPLE CLOSET MANAGEMENT - This position will be responsible for managing the sample closet by inventorying and organizing the samples. As well as pulling and replacing the samples to ensure that the Quality Inspector has the samples needed at their press.
  • 6S - This position will be responsible to partner with the Manufacturing Management Team to do random audits and to ensure that all associates and areas are maintaining 5s standards.
  • ANY OTHER ASSIGNMENTS GIVEN – Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

    Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, would prefer a two-year degree or higher or two years of relevant full-time experience.
  • Should have experience in a role that requires at once decision making as a key requirement.
  • Must have at least one-year supervisory experience.
  • Quality Laboratory experience preferred.
