Senior Accountant

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

 

Secures financial operations by monitoring and processing financial data, controlling and reporting, ensure accounting records and documentation compliant internally (Group Policies and Guidelines/GFM) and externally (Tax Requirements).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure Error free day to day bookkeeping with maximum precision of operating expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes in accordance with Group Finance Manual and Local GAAP. Close the accounts at month-end and solves related problems.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions.
  • Meets accounting financial standards (IFRS and Local GAAP ”SOCPA”) by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Follow up and accurately prepares accruals and provisions.
  • To meet the set timelines of the Accounting Team Manager for the month end closing process by performing and supporting in month end closing activity & smart close management.
  • To monitor and reconcile the monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Fixed asset management (creation, booking, disposal, depreciation and tagging), CAPEX tracking and physical count overview.
  • Follow up all rent contracts and alignment with Real estate team to ensure accuracy of lease master data (IFRS 16).
  • Reconciles accounting records with different related parties.
  • Ensure that all Corporation Tax Computations, VAT Returns, Other Taxes, Tax Reporting and Transfer Pricing are performed timely and accurately with the help of external advisors where agreed. Ensure that calculations and assumptions are appropriate and in line with our tax strategy. Ensure that all computations are submitted on time; and all payments are made timely.
  • To proactively inform the Accounting Manager, Sr. Manager Finance and Group Taxes of any change in tax regulation to support fast and efficient business decision making.
  • Handling ad-hoc general accounting processes, analysis and projects as requested.
  • Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.

    • Measure progress on own & team KPIs.
    • Monitor all allocated reports.
    • Ensures adherence to group accounting policies and procedures.

IT skills

  • Outlook: intermediate

  • SAP: intermediate experience is preferred

Arabic (written and verbal)

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably CPA, ACCA or CA.
  • Ideally with a qualified accounting/audit background
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in team management
