Senior 3D Designer Innovation (m/f/d)

Focus Area of Contribution & Strategic Relevance:

Digital Creation E2E is a strategic board program under the digital umbrella building the must-have adidas creation infrastructure of the future. Focus is to digitize the end-to-end creation-to-shelf value chain, covering marketing, creation, sourcing (supplier integration) and sell-in.

It is an integral part of adidas strategy “Own the game” with the clear focus to drive engagement, speed, and efficiencies.

 

 

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This is a key in-house position for an organized, passionate and goal-oriented future technology thought leader who is able to serve as an innovator for designers’ technological needs along IT and Digital Creation E2E

  • Support on the strategy for developing innovative & sustainable design technology solutions along clearly defined priorities and business needs
  • Research technology and start-up landscape as requested, x-industries to provide innovative solutions and impulses that will benefits Digital Creation E2E processes along consumer engagement, closer to market & digital collaboration
  • Advise the business functions on prioritization and the measurable outcomes of projects for Digital Creation E2E
  • Support DC E2E Design Operations Team with the implementation process of new tools and technologies
  • Ensure fit of new technologies/tools/solutions within existing & future process/system landscape in close alignment with Digital Creation Architect, as the demands of the business change

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide innovative technologies to facilitate creativity in the adoption of new design methods and processes incl. briefing in new technologies & testing for suitability of business use
  • Research and drive development of further product and process innovation areas & techniques as requested with positive impact on business results, support the consolidation and reporting on a quarterly basis and integration within DC E2E epic planning.
  • Work proactively with the Design Operations and MVP leads on current process & tool gaps, escalating to Director Prototype Creator to create execution priority list.
  • Support iterative user involvement across adidas, during tool development to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Ensure usability and implementation of newly developed technologies and tools through E2E integrated & comprehensive testing across process & system landscape in close alignment with key stakeholders along ramp up and maturity
  • Act as ambassador for the adoption of DC E2E tools within design and across all divisions to ensure sustainability to deliver DC E2E targets within the business timelines needed
  • Manage relationship with tool vendors (e.g. CLO 3D, The Foundry, Blender, 4D Pipeline, Accenture, Rhinoceros, and others) to foster joint innovations e.g., API negotiations, license fees etc.
  • Support the execution of tool and vendor assessments & contests for profound decision making with regards to new tools, together with designated product owners and in close alignment with Digital Director Architect and relevant stakeholders in IT

  • Strong business acumen in design tools, technology and IT
  • Profound relevant Digital Creation knowledge in a variety of tools and experience with key vendors (e.g. CLO 3D, The Foundry, Blender, 4D Pipeline, Accenture, Rhinoceros, and others)
  • Expertise in comprehensive tool testing and collaboration with IT
  • Organizational skills to manage agile tool development
  • Proven track record of successfully managing portfolio of ongoing tool developments within dynamic set up, clearly demonstrating achievements against the business needs
  • Advanced understanding of business processes, methodologies, and principles within adidas Apparel and Footwear

 

People management skills:

  • Track record of steering and effectively influencing business and IT needs
  • Foster close collaboration with and beyond team in which 3Cs (creativity, collaboration & confidence) are lived daily demonstrating an innovative and can-do attitude
  • Ambassadorship for Digital Creation E2E and its technologies and tools across

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Between 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience in digital transformation environment with focus on tool innovation
  • Within which 1-2 years proven track record of experience in digital transformation focusing on innovative 3D Design tool development for Digital Creation E2E within Apparel and Footwear industries
  • Profound experience in working in agile set-up and relevant mind-set
  • Advanced tool development, prototyping and testing skills
  • University degree
