Senior Agile Coach

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The role of agile coaching supports the organization or teams adopt and improve agile methods and practices. The agile role is part embedded trainer and part consultant—specifically, an adviser. Agile Coaches must educate employees at all levels, including senior on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work. They provide training sessions and teach valuable skills that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Portfolio, program and project support

  • Uses recommended portfolio, program and project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking.
  • Sets up project files, compiles and distributes reports. Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.
  • Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.

 

Business analysis

  • Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes and organization.
  • Assists in defining acceptance tests for these recommendations.

 

Methods & Tools

  • Provides advice and guidance to support adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards.
  • Reviews and improves usage and application of methods and tools.
  • Supports projects, functions or teams in the development of project and/or operational methods for measurement.
  • Specifies base and derived measures which support agreed information needs. Identifies and prioritizes appropriate measures, scales, and targets.
  • Specifies how to collect and store the data for each required measure.
  • Provides guidance on collection of data including automation.
  • Designs reports and reporting formats.

 

Relationship management

  • Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.
  • Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables.
  • Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
  • Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding.
  • Facilitates business decision-making processes.
  • Captures and disseminates technical and business information.

 

Product Management

  • Applies standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis and performance monitoring activities for specified products.
  • Supports problem resolution, resolves issues and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
  • Creates product collateral and monitors results and feedback from product campaigns.

 

Competency Assessment

  • Provides advice and guidance on the selection, adoption and adaption of appropriate assessment methods, tools and techniques based on the context of the assessment and how the results of the assessment are to be used.
  • Manages execution of skill/competency assessments to ensure they deliver the required outcomes with acceptable quality.
  • Ensures assessments follow ethical, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages reviews of the benefits and value of assessment methods and tools.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to assessment methods and tools.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of learning or educational activities based on the achievement of skill/competency development targets.

 

Learning and development management

  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of a catalogue of learning and development resources.
  • Books and organizes learning events. Updates and controls training records, including attainment of certificates and accreditations.

 

Learning design and development

  • Designs, creates, develops, customizes and maintains learning materials and resources to deliver agreed outcomes, and meet accreditation requirements if appropriate.
  • Contributes to the design, configuration and testing of learning environments, including creation of simulated data, and replication of external systems, interfaces and assessment systems.

 

Learning delivery

  • Prepares or customizes and delivers learning activities and the learning environment for a variety of audiences.
  • Teaches, instructs, trains students/learners in order to develop knowledge, techniques and skills using appropriate methods, tools, online environments, equipment and materials.
  • Oversees students/learners in performing practical activities and work, advising and assisting where necessary, and ensuring that maximum learning benefit is gained from the practical experience.
  • Provides detailed instruction as necessary and responds to wide-ranging and detailed questioning in own area(s) of specialization.
  • Assesses objectively, against pre-set criteria, the ability levels of students and reports as appropriate.
  • Develops examples and case study material for use in pre-defined courses.
  • Adapts simple course material to meet the needs of students.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree with focus on Business Administration or IT or related areas
  • Proficient spoken and written command of English
  • 5 years of experience in relevant area (scrum master background, agile coach, coaching teams, workshops, mentoring, agile practices: scrum/ kanban, Training, transformation/ change management, product led and consumer focus, IT tools: Jira/ confluence)
  • 2 years of experience in team management
  • Strong understanding & knowledge of regional and global market landscape and the respective customer
  • Managed critical elements and cross functional and regional projects
