Senior Color Designer - YEEZY

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


The work created will function to shape and steer the KW Creative Vision into product expression in partnership with adidas/ Yeezy product creation team. To design and lead projects in design industry leading executions of Footwear and/or Industry through COLOR. Focus on being the expert & industry leading specialist in Color innovations, opposed to leading a team of direct reports, will be leading the projects/ color creation process. Maintain and nurture the COLOR design direction with the COLLECTION Design team, Development, Marketing and the consumer.  Influence both design teams developing Current and Future FTW initiatives across key categories based on direction of Senior Design Leader(s)/ KW.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manages in designing Footwear Color executions for COLLECTION and Priority FTW with input from Design + product creation. This includes but is not limited to:

            Seasonal prep and research stated above

            Creates product design presentations; both physical and digital

  • Be at a global forefront of design trends and innovation as well as their application
  • Steer and drive the COLOR conceptualization process
  • Creating transparency on creative feedback Items in digital format and turn around request at 100% team ability in speed to deliver on the ask.
  • Creates Color CADs and supporting documents to increase ways of working efficiency
  • Works closely with Development to assist in development process & costing; meet development timelines and calendar deadlines per seasonal milestone.
  • Role model and inspire WOW within design team and BU partners
  • Be a key functional relationship interface with Creative Direction Color Team Advanced Concepts and BU teams, EXTERNAL CONSULTANTS AND PARTNERS
  • Travel to Asia for FTW development trips

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A strong working knowledge of footwear color, construction and production

  • A strong knowledge of material suppliers, material production, and technical material feasibilities

  • Understanding of marketplace history, consumer, and current positioning
  • Ability to understand design concepts and think conceptually
  • Ability to create designs that meet category needs and commercial opportunities

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four year college or university degree in industrial, graphics, apparel or footwear design
  • Practical experience in footwear design, fashion design or any design relevant environment
  • Thorough knowledge of art and design with clear understanding of visual design or any design related environment
  • Three years relevant work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree
  • Has experienced knowledge and a higher understanding of product. From color, material, construction, to production.
