Senior Designer 3D - Sportswear Apparel (m/f/d)

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION

 

  • Ensure new technologies and design processes are implemented into the creative teams, supporting the creators as a key strategic partner to the brand
  • Lead the cross functional planning for successful design operation within new and existing tools, keeping the teams across the brand at the leading edge of innovation
  • Establish and evolve design creation processes globally, leading the 3D design team to meet the brands goals and maintain leadership in the sporting goods industry

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Leadership and Innovation

 

Partner with leaders across the brand to

  • Drive design process innovation within the brand, ultimately positioning our brand as a technology and thought leader in the creative realm.
  • Drive communication on innovative and complex technologies to inspire and lead the creative teams in the adoption of design methods and tools.
  • Engage with creators beyond the organisation to support adidas in being recognized as the creator brand.
  • Identify opportunities of improvement and change, and initiate own proposals and projects

 

Strategy and Implementation

 

  • Lead the 3D design team in successful implementation of digital creation strategic goals, helping plan and deliver for designers across all BU’s
  • Empower and engage the creative community rolling out solutions with clarity, effectively on-boarding creatives across the business
  • Develop and drive effective methods for testing new technologies and processes helping provide fact-based feedback and requirements to IT
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure targeted results and community awareness
  • Consult with cross-functional team members to ensure end-to-end benefits are achieved

 

 

 

 

Team Management and Budget

 

  • Manage and grow direct reports, through the setting of objectives, assessing achievements and results, planning development and training, in cooperation with HR partners
  • Maximise results within given budget and timeframes
  • Participate in the creation of annual and long-term Creative Direction strategies
  • Seek out new Design resources that can deliver world class result

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Credible expertise in creative technologies in communicating with the creative teams.
  • Ability to drive end-to-end strategy and initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team of personnel – direct and indirect
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Design: Highly knowledgeable in sketching and drawing methods, in Adobe Suite, 3D Modelling, Rendering, and Apparel simulation
  • Strong visual skills with the ability to create impactful/exciting visuals

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Under-graduate level Design, 3D, or related education experience
  • Solid education and advanced experience in the creative development of communication tools
  • At least 4 years experience in 3D Visualization or Design
  • Proven experience with the entire design process (project scope and time planning, design steps, production/execution of design solution, pre-press processes)
  • Passion for adidas and its mission
  • Passion for sports, culture, design
