Senior Director, Manufacturing Excellence Apparel


  • To provide the inspiration, leadership and direction to our internal and external T1 and T2 ME resource, supply partners and multifunctional stakeholders to achieve Manufacturing Excellence as defined by world leading capabilities and performance levels.
  • Define, develop, and lead ME strategies and initiatives that will contribute to the efficiency and elevate performance of the supply base to become world class suppliers


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop ME strategies for mid to long-term including operational approach to ensure the achievements are met.
  • Collaborate with T1/T2 Business Partners on automating data capture throughout the production process value chain.  Identify area where data exchange through internal & external connectivity can be leveraged.  Utilization of predictive analysis or machine learning through intelligent solution to maximize operation efficiencies.   Foster Digital Manufacturing data cube where manufacturing data can enhance decision making in other functional area beyond Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Deliver sustainable cost mitigation benefits for the adidas brand through securing targeted productivity and process gains within structures that create the right incentives for our supply partners to improve Create concurrent engineering opportunities for SMV reduction through targeted method engineering and the introduction of auto/semi-auto manufacturing solutions
  • Act as the global ambassador for ME in stakeholder communications
  • Proactively drive and manage the identification, definition, creation and implementation of improvement modules and work-streams and initiatives
  • Lead the ME Operational team in the management and execution of all Manufacturing
  • Excellence projects and initiatives to deliver measurable & sustainable increases in manufacturing efficiency, quality, sustainability and/or speed.
  • Ensure that Lean Manufacturing Principles are maintained with all projects and that Lean Manufacturing metrics are continuously tracked
  • Drive cross functional collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders (Manufacturing Innovation functions, Product Operations, Costing, Allocation etc.)
  • The management and monitoring of KPI data to ensure that opportunities and risks are identified and addressed – this may include the introduction of new KPI’s and driving new analysis of existing data.
  • Effectively manage the escalation of issues and to be the Senior Operational contact point in managing the resolution of performance issues.
  • Partner with machine manufacturers and attend industry trade fairs to keep educated on industry technology development which will impact productivity. Transfer knowledge into productivity improvement efforts across Apparel factories.
  • Ensure the on-going performance management and the development of the skills and capabilities of the ME team through direct guidance and mentoring, fulfilling internal and external training needs, facilitating cross-regional support, and the organization of ‘best practice’ sharing events and forums
  • Oversee and agree the ME Operation resource travel and work-schedules to ensure that departmental/business priorities and objectives are achieved.
  • Ownership of all Strategic & Operational ME communications.

  • Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Speaking), BULATS level 3 or equivalent


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience within an apparel manufacturing/industrial engineering environment
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management position managing multiple departments/functions - ideally within apparel
