Senior Director, Non Trade Procurement (APAC & SEA)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Lead the Non-Trade Procurement organization on a market level for the APAC by defining, committing and realizing the market Procurement targets (incl. savings, capability improvements etc.) in alignment with the global CPO. Responsible for bringing best-in-class procurement practice methods, processes, policies in the market and achieving compliance. Full managerial responsibility for the APAC Procurement organization
  • Lead the Non-Trade Procurement organization on SEA level by defining, committing and realizing SEA Procurement targets in alignment with APAC Procurement goals. 

 

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Deliver Annually agreed Savings Targets and other agreed targets for APAC & SEA
  • Regularly report and communicate market targets in alignment with global Procurement targets
  • Take a long-term approach of Procurement together with the CPO, ensuring market needs and specifics are captured
  • Ownership and accountability for the development of team members across the market. Drive capability development in the market in regard to new capabilities, processes and technology standardization, leading practice sharing and talent development
  • Prioritize, initiate, and manage continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate impact assessment of changing requirements in the respective market, including legislation and policies
  • Work together with Senior Global Category Directors in positioning market specific procurement requirements on a global level 
  • Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies.
  • Lead the Procurement organization for APAC in accordance with the adidas management principles to support the organization’s overall leadership focus on performance and talent management, values, management and (self-)management practices 
  • Establish and execute the strategy for NTP APAC. As a member of the Global Procurement Leadership Team, influence and drive the implementation of strategic decisions on market and country level
  • Manage the quality of the end-to-end source-to-pay process including quality management and compliance to policies, strategies, and processes within the market 
  • Monitor and support successful execution and implementation of category and sourcing strategies including leading practices across the sourcing lifecycle, key stakeholder alignment and customer satisfaction in the market
  • Prioritize support requests, e.g. to meet global category objectives and communicate those transparently to stakeholders
  • Agree and monitor Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements between the Procurement market (incl. respective countries), the respective GBS service delivery and the business (or customer)
  • Develop, align and execute a yearly action plan to upgrade the Procurement Function
  • Develop and implement Market Procurement succession plan
  • Act as Point of Contact for markets stakeholders and APAC / SEA management team
  • Manage relationships with markets stakeholder and stakeholder satisfaction, acting as a business partner and representing Procurement in the market organization
  • Strive for alignment between Procurement category strategies, sourcing implementation and the market P&L delivery
  • Support the global implementation and further enhancement of Zero Based Budgeting in APAC
  • Support key sourcing initiatives and management of core suppliers
  • Review and advise category strategies for major market spend categories 
  • Develop and lead partnerships with selected key strategic suppliers
  • Keep up to date with market trends, prices and developments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Expert in sourcing and procurement methodologies, concepts and execution processes as well as supplier management 
  • Expert for non-trade procurement category strategies
  • Good experience in Zero Based Budgeting methodologies
  • Strong ability to analyse specifications and influence demand
  • Good experience in implementation of Shared Service Centers in the context of procurement 
  • Expert in implementation of procure to pay tools and related processes
  • Good knowledge of Procurement strategy development and conveyance
  • Proven track record of driving and successfully delivering a procurement transformation
  • Good ability to coach, manage, align, motivate and develop direct reports 
  • Good knowledge of Procurement tools and data, content and automation
  • Experience in risk and compliance management
  • Extensive capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group 
  • International experience and working in global and matrix organizations 
  • Strong end to end Source to Pay process management knowledge and experience
  • Good analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong Change Management experience
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years working experience in procurement management area, ideally in consumer goods or apparel industry with at least 5-7 years’ experience holding management positions
  • A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
  • Proficiency in MS Office, e-sourcing (Ariba), p2p tools (Ariba)
  • Travel of up to 30%
