Senior Director Non-Trade Procurement APAC

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

  • Responsible to lead and manage all indirect procurement activities for adidas in China, Japan, Korea & South East Asia countries
  • Establish “best in class” procurement services, providing pro-active value-added solutions through procurement expertise to local internal clients and establish work processes (incl. Spend data base, information exchange systems etc.) which are at the same time user friendly, financially sound and efficient.
  • Contribute to overall improvement by identifying and implementing targeted cost reduction programs (total cost of ownership & demand management)

 

Key Responsibilities:   

 

  • Lead APAC procurement activities:
    • ensure alignment with business needs
    • achievement of annual savings & working capital targets
    • tracking & monitoring of procurement performance KPIs
    • development of relevant action plans to close any gaps identified.
  • Implement, apply and ensure compliance of procurement processes (transactional, operational and strategic) with current and future procurement policies and guidelines, considering relevant country-specific commercial, statutory and tax legislations as well as Internal Audit requirements.
  • Develop annual procurement sourcing plans based on aligned global category strategies to optimise cost effectiveness
  • Negotiate procurement contracts in line with country-specific business, legal and financial requirements
  • Identify and implement potential total cost optimization opportunities or other cross-regional / cross-functional synergies by maximizing use of global and regional negotiation levers and agreements
  • Implement best procurement practices and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Negotiate cross country and / or regional Terms & Conditions to fit with current and future “internal client” requirements, and liaise with related functions.
  • Maximise costs optimisation through synergies and volume bundling
  • Build stakeholder/budget holder buy-in to procurement strategies by applying a formalised stakeholder relationship management programme
  • Manage, coach & develop a team of country procurement teams
  • Manage portfolio of suppliers towards optimum value: balancing service, quality and cost, in line with business objectives
  • When and where appropriate, challenge internal demand (make or buy decision, demand management... etc.)
  • Liaise with other procurement colleagues across the globe to implement global procurement strategies within the region (when applicable)
  • Develop country and regional procurement sourcing plans to deliver agreed annual savings and working capital targets
  • Facilitate end users’ awareness of risk and cost related to procurement commitments, and promote good procurement practices within the region.
  • Share best practices and competitive supplier market intelligence
  • Implements TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) methodology together with internal users, identifies and implements improvement opportunities (e.g. as a result of standardization of materials/services, procurement process simplification…).
  • Follows up procurement targets and spend for categories in scope and complies with reporting guidelines. Tracks savings versus set targets. Tracks PO Penetration and encourages Improvements in Working Capital
  • Set up, maintain and continuously improve procurement process (“Procure to Pay”) and ensure it is smoothly embedded into business way of working
  • Set up/manage repository for contracts management in collaboration with Legal and Finance departments.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field required
  • 10 -15 years procurement experience in similar position across all purchasing categories, people management/leadership capacity, Consumer or Retail industry (desirable), with proven professional services and marketing exposure.
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
  • IT literate: Office and ERP knowledge, SAP SRM , Spend analytics & E-sourcing
