Senior Director Retail Excellence

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION:

This role will lead retail excellence function to drive the design and implementation of key retail strategic initiatives and ensure consistent operations process and communication in China retail stores. More importantly, this role will continuously strive to make things simpler for store, better for customers and sustainable for adidas.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with SVP Retail to identify and propose the key initiatives and strategies to improve store productivity and consumer experience
  • Proactively collaborate and align with Retail Operations leaders on best practices for in-store implementation and multi-unit leader accountability related to store processes and programs
  • Drive consumer centricity digital projects including but not limited to corporate wechat stores, seamless checkout to attract, engage, convert and retain consumers
  • Drive digitalization initiatives including but not limited to RFID, mPOS to enhance store efficiency
  • Oversee retail standard and guidelines and ensure to support store process efficiency improvement
  • Create a culture of accountability by ensuring standard operating procedures are consistently followed
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on store relations including employee engagement, communication, recognition and reward to achieve and maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure the visibility of profitability, productivity and consumer insights through systematic analysis and collaborate with cross functions to drive continuous enhancement
  • Motivate, coach and manage the Retail Excellence team to develop capabilities and achieve targets

  • Shared Retail Team KPI’s include Topline and Bottom line of Own Retail business
  • Key initiatives delivery
  • Customer satisfaction of retail support provided

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain a proactive approach to strategy implementation
  • Creative thinker; a visionary who creates strategies and turns them into concrete tactical plans
  • Ability to prioritize amongst many competing priorities to ensure that short-term goals supporting long-term initiatives are achieved with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Able to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across organization functions and levels
  • Ability to form effective internal and external business partnerships that influence the business
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a variety of people in a fast-paced, passionate and multi-faceted environment
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams through difficult, emotional, and stressful business and organizational climates
  • Extensive knowledge and in-depth understanding of retail concepts and terminology
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business or related fields preferred
  • Minimum 15 years’ retail management experience with at least 5 of those years in a senior level retail leadership position
  • Prior experience in retail operations, retail excellence will be preferred
