The executive search team is essential in identifying, qualifying and assessing executive talent for our most senior executive positions. About the role Senior Executive search recruiter

  • The senior executive recruiter is responsible for driving and delivering outstanding executive search results with the team and attracting and closing the best talent for adidas.
  • The role is a hybrid role where in most instances, the Senior Executive Recruiter will be end responsible for leading the search (together with the team) and tasked with driving the executive search projects as end responsible point of contact for the client. In some case, depending on the specifics of a role and the stakeholders, the senior executive recruiter will team up with a more senior team member and support the execution in that way.
  • The senior executive recruiter will be responsible for defining executive hiring needs and delivering cost effective, results oriented executive search strategies that yield the best hires (internal and external) throughout the brand, together with their project team (R&S/Recruiter and Coordinator).
  • They will partner closely with ES team members and internal executive clients to manage the execution and delivery for executive recruitment projects, continuously capturing robust information on internal and external talent to provide pipelines, insights and leverage for future executive search needs at adidas. A large part of their role is interacting with key senior leadership at the company, advising on their talent needs, market trends and insights, status updates on active projects as well as supporting them throughout the process and enabling them to make the best hiring decisions.
  • S/he is responsible for overseeing and driving all search activities including identifying, attracting, assessing, acquiring and on-boarding exceptional and diverse executive level talent with a continued focus on high quality insights and documentation as well as superb candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • The senior executive recruiter will engage with senior level candidates around the unique opportunities at adidas (present and future) whilst assessing the talent against the set criteria and competencies of the search assignment as well as cultural fit, with the ultimate goal to present a slate of candidates that is qualified, interested and ready to be interviewed by the hiring team. Throughout the search the senior recruiter will advise on selection of talent to interview for hiring team and provide guidance, council and insights on candidate motivation and attraction as well as supporting the candidates through the interviewing process.
  • Moreover, the senior executive recruiter, will continuously develop strong relationships with key executives and executive-ready talent at competitors, target companies and industry segments and will be a subject matter expert on recruiting strategies, executive search and candidate assessment to meet the needs of adidas’ various segments markets and functions. The senior executive recruiter proactively captures and communicates market trends, industry information, or other applicable intelligence to executive management in support of overarching talent sourcing strategy
  • Work and HR and business priorities.

More specifically, as our executive search recruiter in adidas you will be responsible for:

  • Managing executive level search projects (internal and external) from kick-off meeting to signature/closing on a global level.
  • Creating the search documentation and materials, in line with global templates
  • Creatively and proactively recruit, assess and present high quality executive candidates.
  • Develop appropriate and consistent communications with internal clients and senior human resource partners to ensure a positive client and candidate experience.
  • Provide strategic direction and counsel to hiring executives and senior human resources managers regarding recruiting trends, concerns and possibilities for opportunistic hiring.
  • Participate in the continuous building and update of an executive database with a viable network including talented professionals (potential candidates) and with a focus on “best in class” talent in adidas’ direct competitors as well as “best in class” companies.
  • Ensure the presentation of high quality executive candidates in accordance with diversity goals and objectives for both internal and external searches.
  • Manage and conduct thorough reference and background checks on final candidates.
  • Effectively utilize comprehensive knowledge of company benefits, general compensation strategies, affirmative action program awareness and recruiting sales techniques.
  • Partner closely with the other COE’s, such as Talent Management, Succession Planning, Rewards and Mobility
    • Partner closely with Talent Management on internal talent pipeline
    • Partner closely with Succession planning team for visibility on succession plans and status
    • Partner closely with the rewards to negotiate complex executive offer packages


Your Profile

Ideal experience

  • 7+ years of recruiting experience recruiting executive level talent.
  • Retained executive search experience required
  • Ideally combined with 2+ years inhouse executive search experience
  • Direct experience having worked on searches in the consumer goods industry is preferred
  • Proven track record in delivering a high quality, thoroughly assessed slate of candidates under very tight timelines
  • Strong project management skills; capable of developing and executing upon thoughtful project/recruiting strategies and then together with the search team methodically working those projects to a successful completion.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in all executive search techniques, from formulating  search strategy and target companies, to recruitment methods (executive referrals, research, direct sourcing, executive search firm management), vendor relationship management, executive compensation strategies, external community and agency relationship management.
  • Experienced in assessment of talent with behavioural based interviewing and assessment techniques. Able to formulate clear and objective assessments, taking into account fit to the role as well as fit to the organisation.
  • Strong client facing capabilities, personable with consultative sales and persuasion skills for reasoning and negotiations. Engaging, ability to establish rapport quickly, engage and assess challenging executive as well as internal stakeholders and develop trusting relationships.
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Competence & ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, make quick decisions and work with highly confidential information.
  • High proficiency with CRM software or executive search database tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, whereby fluency in English is a must.
  • Bachelor degree required
